Homer Simpson's "D'oh" is described in the scripts as 'An annoyed grunt'. That doesn't exactly fit what you're looking for, but it's funny. :D

It's also on the way to replacing the traditional spelling of "duh." Which is also pretty funny, I think.

Totally OT: Is it just me or has 'The Simpsons' become depressingly formula and awfully lame? I. for one, think the series should be ended except it's still making big bucks for people and it'll probably shamble along like Frankenstein's monster until it's finally allowed to die. :rolleyes:
 
It's that brief, explosive exhalation that bounces off the roof of your mouth when something happens that's a complete surprise -- and irritating. Open-mouthed, so it's not really a grunt.
