I love this, in that hateful way. I have a song stuck in my head, the main part of which I love. I want to download it or at least find the song's name or what album it comes from, but I know neither. It plays on the radio occassionally, but not on the teeny-bop stations. At least, not to my recollection. Of course, they never mrention the name of the song or the artist, at least not while I'm listening.

"Da-da-da, da da, dada dada dada da. Da-da-da, da da, dada dada dada da.
Da-da dada, ne-da dada, ne-da dada, ne-da dada, ne-da da." (repeat)

That's the main part instrument. There are words, but damned to hell if I know them. I think the last part (ne da da) is "then you die", but some co-workers think it's "Summer day(s)". If so, that would be a good hint as to the song's name. But I haven't had much luck searching around using it as a lead.

It's an acoustic-type guitarish insturment, kinda like a banjo though. The song has a bluegrass/country twang to it, but it certiantly is neither (bluegrass has more hootenannie). One guy singing. Good voice, fits the song well (kinda rustic, but my rustic probably differs from others).

Arrgh! It's really starting to itch away at me!

No, I know about that song. It isn't that one. Unless they made a new commercial using the same people.

No, this one has an actual instrument. The lyrics don't include "dada da," that's just how I hum it to myself.

Thanks though. It's hard enough to describe by humming it, much less via text (not knowing the lyrics).

Reminds me of the song, Blue by some techno band I can't remember...I know that's not what you're talking about though.

Given your limited description, the best I can think of is "Tom's Diner" by Suzanne Vega & DNA.

Without the lyrics, even a small snippet, there's really no one who can help you.

Well, found it:

In The Summertime (Jerry Mungo):

In the summertime when the weather's high,
you can stretch right up and touch the sky,
when the weather's fine,
you got women, you got women on your mind.
Have a drink, have a drive,
go out and see what you can find.

If her daddy's rich, take her out for a meal.
If her daddy's poor, just do as you feel.
Speed along the land,
you can ton, on the turn of twentyfive.
When the sun goes down, you can make it,
make it good in a lay-by.

We're not grey people, we're not dirty, we're not mean.
We love everybody, but we do as we please.
When the weather's fine
we go fishing or go swimming in the sea.
We're always happy,
life's for living, yeah, that's our philosophy.

Sing along with us, dee-dee-dee-dee-dee.
Da-da-da-da-da...
Yeah, we're hap happy, da-da-da-da-dah.

When the winter's here, then it's party time.
Bring a bottle, wear your bright clothes. It'll soon be summertime.
And we'll sing again, we'll go drivin' or maybe we'll settle down.
If she's rich, if she's nice,
bring your friends and we'll all go into town.

I know most of you don't care - but this makes me happy as a clam!
