Let's see... first day "back" to a normal schedule. It is going to be a great year! Fresh crop of noobs to intimidate.... errr, I mean educate  Good to see people I haven't seen all summer too. Glad to be back in the saddle again :D

Word to the wise, don't wear new heels on the first day back on your feet all day. Owie!!! *wimp* *cry* *whine*

ouch, ptm.... I can't imagine wearing heels (new or other) to work at all!!! call me a frumpy old lady, but I don't wear too many heels over an inch anyway! I'm thankin my stars that I wear pretty much casual clothes to work each day....

Contemplating drying my hair so I can go read more placement essays. Taking the little man to work with me because the baby sitter just cancelled. [sigh]

avoiding

I am avoiding the real world though I am still trying to figure out what the "real world" is and where it is ... hard to avoid something you don't know anything about...

Today I went for my follow up optometrist appointment, getting ready to go to lunch with my sis, and am taking my hubby to dinner tonight. Just because :)

How does that work out for you? My kids, the oldest in particular, loved to go to work with me. They liked the chalkboard in my office. I took my oldest to a couple of classes and she sat under a desk and played.

It was usually more fun for them than it was for me, though.

Luckily, today was not a teaching day. Classes start next week. Today was simply placement essay reading day, so he actually sat quietly for awhile. And he spent a good hour writing numbers from 1 - 40 and his ABCs on the dry erase board in the room we were in.

I've taken him to class before, but usually those were just on workshop or peer review days. He would spend his time doodling on the chalkboard. But then, even at 5 he's a huge show-off and flirt. So he would try to entertain all the girls in my class. [sigh] I am so going to have my hands full as he gets older.

Tell me about it! WTF was I thinking there? My feet are still a little sore and I did the whole soak & pedicure thing to them tonight. I don't do the heel thing often. Actually, I think that is the first time I have worn them to school! Just tryig for the 'professional' look, you know to intimidate the noobs?! ;)

I'll be in casual clothes soon enough. *which will be a relief!*

I'm already in the "vegging in front of the computer" stage. Me and the Food Network. :D

I get tired just reading what MrWag is up to today. Compacting crushed stone? Oy...

I could use some help with my left foot, please.

Maybe we could start an aches and pains club....or something...[sighs]

Yankee: I know the hip issue pretty well. I fell off a ladder awhile back...two weeks ago..and I was black and blue from hip to knee.

Scaly: Sea salt soak in a massaging foot bath?

ouch. is the back pain related to this?

The backpain was a pre-existing condition from injuries in college. It comes and goes. The tumble from the ladder only exacerbated that pre-existing condition.

Hmmm. we have both sea salt and a foot bath massager, but I've never tried salt in the water. I might try it just to see if it works.

I fractured my footbone playing racquetball about 7 or 8 years ago (we were pretty serious about the game....when I couldn't play on, the other guys dragged me out to the hall and then continued to play).

Ouch. I've actually done that running. I sprang off a curb the wrong way, avoided rolling my ankle only to hear my foot pop. It still "catches" occassionally at the most unexpected times--some when I'm not even doing anything strenuous.

I usually do a sea salt soak or an epsom salt soak.
