Nowadays I scoff more at the concept of them being successful than being meaningful.
I've had plenty of meaningful ones... none that ever worked.

Honestly, I think it would be a very rare experience to actually meet my friends here on Lit out in real life. It's a different kind of thing that I share with them. Now, hookup sites are probably a whole 'nother story.

I'll never have that problem...I'm way too far out in the middle of nowhere....Strickly friendly internet connections....through the wires, visible or invisible that cross the earth....

My problem was that my online relationships NEVER manifested into the real world, due to distance and money constraints, so they kind of burnt out and got ruined.
The internet communities you meet in also might be a detriment.
I'm at a point now where I'll never tell a woman online I love them, even if I think I might.
Entirely restricted to real life.
It hurts too much to tell someone you love them and then winding up never meeting.
There's just no point in calling someone a girlfriend if I can't even be with them.
