Thank you for the suggestions. It's given me a good direction to start with. :)

I have totally been thinking battenberg for the past few weeks! I only have round cake pans, but it's kicking around in my head asking to be created...

Could you use your roasting tin? If you use lining/ greaseproof paper to make a divide you could bake both colours at once if the measure ments work out in your roasting tin.

At uni I used to bake cakes in my stewing pan from ikea start up box. :) they often had a little lip at the base if they rose really well. :D

Even my roaster is oval
I will keep my eyes open, and a pan will come to me. That's how it works! ;)

Homity pie is a carb fest of a potato pie.

It has a little cheese in it, and I temper the heart attack with some leeks. Others might chop an onion in it. But the point is really the carb fest. And subtle cheese.

I'll google a recipe and link it for you :)

Yes please!

Excited one it for you, which is quite authentic. Mine is less so...there is cream involved, and the leeks. :).

Its 'wholesome' food rather than elegant, but is good with a crisp green salad, on inbetween weather, or when its cooler. Its the kind of pie that is vegetarian and almost quiche but that men still like. :D. I think its a war time recipe, but not sure if has older roots.

Well post a link already! :p

I didn't know we were going to keep talking

I'll not do it again, Miss Collar. :rose:

Why not? I might learn a new trick :D

This sounds really yummy. I make a casserole with a layer of mashed potatoes, layer of caramelized onions, shredded cheese, layer of mashed potatoes on top. This sounds similar, but with a crust. I want to try it! :)

I just found out that Noosa yogurt comes in a strawberry rhubarb flavor. I snapped that right on up!

Pork tenderloin, homemade applesauce, sweet potato mash, asparagus and whole wheat rolls. I had some apple cider with a dash of blackberry juice. It all went perfectly together. Yum!

A 20 lb. Turkey is in the brine since yesterday...will inject with honeybutter and place fresh thyme, a bit of sage, cracked black pepper under the skin and smoke that sucker with sweet applewood... Mmmmm...

First time ever I managed to ruin semolina dumpling batter. Sure, why should it work for the one time in a year I make it for guests.

Now I have to watch this on endless loop till I'm no longer mad.
