What's cookin', good lookin'? Part II

Um, stored? You really haven't met G have you ;). ( jk)

Yes, it travels ok. Presuming you don't play lacrosse with it. :) It's a good picnic cake for example, I wrap in in foil and cardboard then tape usually....because it's dry it takes this.

Generally storing a biscuit tin, a Tupperware if foil doesn't suit. The marzipan helps.

Sounds perfect. I might not use foil, but a nice wrapping of parchment and cardboard seems like a good idea. :)

I think I'll have to be a fatty and also make the Victoria sponge cake. :) I think my life needs more cake.

I don't really need more cake. :eek::eek:

:).

I'd probably Saran Wrap anything that risks going stale if traveling it wrapped in parchment. Not sure. It should be fine, it should last ok. :)

Parchment would be beautiful.

And yes, you need the Victoria sandwich too. :rose:

You're probably right. I don't want to send him a stale cake.

Slathering the Victoria cake with jam sounds so good right now. Raspberry would be ideal. I want raspberries now...

Here's a chicken recipe that's delicious and quick. I actually use cilantro instead of parsley, and either one works. It's not as heavy as chicken parm and its much easier and faster to make. Less clean up (depending on how you make your parm).

Whatever you end up making, good luck with the dinner. Sounds like some bonding might be going on :)

Jacques Pepin chicken with parsley and garlic.

Looks delicious. I will have to try it next time.

I made really good veggie lasagne.

Spinach pasta sheets. Roasted zucchini, bell pepper and eggplant and fresh broccoli. Tomato sauce from cherry tomatoes. Instead of a cheese sauce I used grated/crumbled cheese instead, because often I've ended up with the final dish being a bit too runny, so I wanted to have a bit less liquid elements when I've made veggie lasagne. Although this time I roasted most of the veggies to remove liquid and intensify the flavor, so maybe I would have gotten by using cheese sauce, too. It was definitely easier this way and not dry at all.

It worked so well and I'm glad I still have enough for a few lunches for the upcoming week.

I adore baked macaroni and cheese. You kind of lost me with the Velveeta and the cheezits (even though I love them!) but I'm sure it's awesome. All baked macaroni and cheese is :)

Ditched the velveta, crushed up the Cheesezits sautéed them in butter to make a "crumble" for the top.

I made nikujyaga for Mister. It smells really good so I think I might have a tiny bit. Not sure if porridge is on my personal menu tonight.

So, tonight's meal, Mojo Roast Pork, yellow rice and red beans, with tropical carrot slaw.

A fried egg and toast sounds awesome. Also, I really need someone around to make good hash. :)

I will be up late tonight helping Mister with something. I had to prepare a lunch tonight instead of in the morning.

I made a hash out of left over pork loin, potatoes, red bell pepper, smidge of jalapeno and yellow squash and topped it with two fried eggs. I could eat this three times a week, easily :D

That looks and sounds soooooo good!

Question. Do you cook your veggies on the stove top or roast them in the over? My seem to end up a little greasy if I do them on the stove.

That looks so good! I think I should attempt risotto soon. :)
