What's cookin', good lookin'? Part II

I also managed to salvage half a dozen mini cheeseballs but dammit, no pic and they were sooo cute! The blue cheese was the best however gouda came in a close second with cheddar wrapping up the end.

They look amazing! I've had pecan pie once years ago and it was really good. I've been meaning to make it some time, but still haven't, and I think it was actually you who sent me the recipe once.

I'm making tacos today. Bought my very first prickly pear today. Should be interesting. As a fallback option, in case the nopales turn out gross, I'm also making carnitas.

Brief update:

My tacos were so good!

Now I want pecan pie. Or Reese's peanut butter cups. Hmm.

It was a long time coming!

Happy Thanksgiving!

What's everybody making for the big day? Sticking with the traditional or do you make something different? What is traditional in your family anyways?

It's my secret dream to join somebody's Thanksgiving table one year. I've never even seen a turkey, dead or alive. That alone would be cool. Okay, I've seen turkey breasts but that's it. :)
I like to think that anyone in a D/S relationship would have had collared greens for Thanksgiving...

I made beans and stuff.

Soon I'll start baking some Christmas pastry to take to work tomorrow. Baking is so good!

Oh yeah, I'm perfectly fine posting three times in a row.

Christmas pastry, y'all!

Are those considered traditional shapes or are you just artsy that way? They look delicious!

Yes you have my grandma's recipe. Did you ever figure out a substitute for Karo corn syrup?

Now I want to visit Twister so I can pick up pecans. They've become so expensive here these days.

To my great shame I've never tried the recipe. I've since found out that you can actually find corn syrup here, it's just sold under a name that has nothing to do with corn. Is Karo some sort of magical substance and other corn syrups won't do? If that's the case, who wants to send me some? :D And while you're at it, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, too. Kthax. :p

The traditional shapes are the pinwheel ones and the ones that look like flowers or stars. I'm really happy with the criss-crossy ones and I'll make them again for sure with all kinds of fillings. If I can still figure out how I made them now, that is. :D

Both. When you come for Thanksgiving dinner, insist on a dish of Reese's Pieces ice cream for after dessert dessert.

Lately, I've been catching a little bit of flack from people who love me about my eating habits. Specifically, there seems to be some issue with my eating saltines and queso for the only thing I might have all day.

Most times, it just seems like too much effort to cook food just for myself and then, of course, the obligatory cleaning that goes with it. So, I'll just crack open a jar of queso and open a package of saltines and have two or three saltines dipped in the queso about five or six times in a day.

Well, tonight, because I know she loves me and I love her, I decided to make an effort. So, instead of my usual saltines and queso, I'm having pizza. Ham, hamburger, sausage, and pepperoni.

With queso.

There's just so much wrong in this picture I don't know where to start. Not judging or anything but you need some vegetables in there somewhere.

***sigh***

Yes, ma'am.

Although, it's probably worth mentioning that the last woman who got me to eat veggies sent a bikini pic.

;)

I wish someone would make leek soup for me since I don't know if I'll have a chance before mine in the refrigerator goes bad.

Hate this new work schedule but I have to keep telling myself it's only temporary.

Uh...you have looked at my profile pic, right? A bikini would be dressing up.

Well, sheesh! Why do you think I walked a mile to the store for collard greens?

Okay, okay. So, technically, I was going that way anyway, since I needed smokes, and my smoke shop is right by there.

But, why do you think I went into the store?

Okay, okay. So, technically, I needed some cat food since I'm pussy whipped.

But, I didn't need anything from that particular aisle, until I remembered you giving me some guff about those veggies. So, I went there, picked them up, bought them, and carried them home (all thirteen ounces) all because you mentioned it (and I figured a picture of "Collared" greens as a reply in a BDSM Cafe thread would make you laugh [or maybe I should have saved the money to shop for a working sense of humor]).

Any road, that was yesterday. And she seems to think I need to eat something every day for some weird reason.

So, today, I'm thinking frozen bean burritos. That's veggies. Technically.

Smothered in queso, of course.

:D

So, it was 2am on my third night of no sleep and a show comes on talking about people around the country who've built their own castles. And I think to myself "I wanna build a castle. A whole castle out of cake." After a search of my pantry reveals only two boxes of cake mix, I decided I'd better scale down the size of my castle. After accepting the fact that I'd never get to roam the edible halls of my cake castle, I prepared the cake mix, baking it in one sheet cake pan and two large coffee cans. Once the cake had baked and cooled, I set about deciding how to build my castle and quickly realized that I didn't have near enough cake!! Thinking quickly, or as quickly as you can on your third night without sleep, I turned the castle into a lighthouse.

Here she is, complete with working light. She wasn't pretty, but she sure tasted good.
