When women go through puberty men check them out and now see them as sexual beings....I never said it was right or wrong, but that is the reality of being human.

Once upon a time...

I blossomed early and was so embarrassed as none of my friends had.

Being raised in a very religious family I did not wear skimpy clothing, short skirts or revealing tops. (Not that it should matter what a teenage girl is wearing when it comes to decency imo.) On my way to school (intermediate here) I passed some men doing road works. It was mufti day and I was not wearing my school uniform. I got cat called, rude gestures and invitations that were obscene.

I blushed and ran away crying. Sure some dick here is going to suck it up and I have but I will never forget that day. I was young, not worldy wise (our family didn't even swear, drink etc) and very shy.

Now I just ignore cat calling, wolf whistles and some prick grabbing or rubbing his crotch and asking me if "I want some of this" or "I've got something for you."

It's inappropriate and should be socially unacceptable.

I am not saying that men should stop admiring women but be a bit more thoughtful and respectable.

But it infuriated me when my sons were young and with me. Especially when they got to the age where they were asking why the man/men were saying rude things to me.

I have raised my sons that it isn't ok to cat call as some women don't like and find it offensive. Smiling at them, opening doors, offering to buy a drink or telling a a lady she looks lovely or complimenting her appropriately is ok.

And for the record? My adult sons are not namby pambies.
My youngest son has a gf that thinks his gentlemanly ways are lovely.

I think this is a cultural thing (based on my experience), western men are a bit more shamefully in your face about this stuff. And London is by far the worse of all the places I've visited.

Men would step in front of me to get my attention and it would take me a few minutes to realise what's going on (not being used to such blatant in your face kind of behaviour).

When a guy has sent me a drink I have had the option of acknowledging his kind offer and imbibing or politely refusing. I think it is respectful and courteous.
