What will happen to north american auto production?

But seriously, considering that the Chinese have been "stealing" American jobs (according to President Trump) by being more efficient, lower cost producers,
They may be that today, but back in the 1970's american cars that saw 100,000 miles were a rarity. Yet a 1976 Toyota Corolla easily did, unless it rusted out first....I think it was the poor choice to of the Big 3 to keep using the "designed to break engineering" mentality, that drove the rise of the Japanese auto industry in America.
what makes you think they won't be selling luxury automobiles on the high street some day? T
If allowed, I think they already would for the EU and North American markets.

People used to say Japanese electronics were inferior…. J.A. Pan Company Junk.

Chinese EV’s are already outselling Tesla throughout Asia….and apparently theyre pretty good.

If not for protection for the junk made in the USA, the big3 would already be dead.

Btw, honda’s and toyota’s plants in ontario routinely rank above their japanese facilities.

Same with Stellantis in Brampton and Ford in Oakville

US workers are fat opioid addicts with red hats. :)

So they’ll modify supply lines and facilities if they have to in order to build us inventory in the us…it will take years and cost a ton and will likely just kill jobs.

Its all stupid. Trump Steaks & Vodka!
No, they're pretty cheap along with a high rate of spontaneous combustion. (Not that Tesla hasn't had problems with battery fires, just not as often statistically.)

Presently the Chinese auto's fall, roughly, into the same category as Chinese made refrigerators which have a couple of class action lawsuits pending.

Oh look. My prediction came true.

I expect the auto industry (and oil) will be exempt from tariffs. The tariffs are just for show, so Donnie can pretend he’s a tough guy.

There are no border issues for Canada to fix, but Donnie will pretend he forced them to make bigly changes. Huuuuuuge changes. Donnie is only lashing out at Canada because Melania had an affair with Trudeau. 😄

He would nuke everyone if that happened
No doubt.

When my son was 3, he would look around the table at big multigenerational dinners at chinese restaurants, for example, pick his time, get up from the table, calmly walk to the middle of the restaurant, lie down , then start screaming and flailing.

It hooked his mother every time. I used to just laugh.

Same thing.

I’d like to see more decency, which I consider a fundamental American Value.

But maybe thats deep state brainwashing.
He's a Bronx street fighter. Politicians, the mob, and various other parasites. It's all about results, not using the proper fork.

thats why he’s such a poor choice for President.

Like Warren Buffet says, he’s hurt the country’s global brand.

Trump Tariffs: Americans will see popular pickup and suv prices rise by around $10,000

Suckers!
Lol
Isn't that stale news now? Regardless, it's a dynamic situation subject to all sorts of variables and Canada has a much better chance of resolving the situation than Mexico. I don't think it's any secret that Trumps opinion of Soy Boy is lower than whale shit so Soy Boy's exit from the political arena is going to go a long way towards patching things up.

Re. Buffet, he's got a vested interest in Trump not accomplishing certain goals. If that pipeline goes in his BNSF operations lose a shit ton of revenue.

Auto makers are down 8-10% for the year. But hey, at least we gained 2% yesterday

it won’t be stale news come midterms if the price of everything along with unemployment for the american consumer has gone up and the stock market has gone down.

Musk has lost 111 Billion in Tesla stock value since the election.

thats more than bill gates is worth.

Pump the tires all you like, trump could run the wheels right off the whole thing.
