Why is it, every time we come back after an extended break, this place seems to have gone downhill? Has it? Or has it always been a shit show?

To the people who refuse to give up on this place, especially the ones on their 5,397th alt: is this place the same as it's always been? Will 2069's "hay day" be 2045's GB? Is this the fucking circle of life?

Although I joined back in 2019, I didn't even log in and participate until a few months ago.
I don't know how it was back then compared to now but, I expected more fun interactive people instead of so many people trying to shame and attack people for their input in a lot of the forums. I didn't expect the non tolerant attitudes of the supposed tolerant Liberals to be so prevalent in a place where those attitudes should be left at the coat check before participating in the forums. I'm a little underwhelmed that this place is like other social media platforms in that sense. That's why I don't use other S.M. plaforms. I have interacted with some cool people, it's not all bad. But I have to be cautious and think about which forum threads to interact with or risk having a group get their feelings hurt when they hear the truth and someone who doesn't feel the way they do. It used to be okay for people to have different views and opinions. It made for thoughtful conversations. Not anymore.
