I just have a question.....no it's not a question its a comment....no I take that back.....its a BIG FUCKING COMMENT. I have been a member of Lit chat for a long time now. It was a wonderful place to be when I started. The people were nice, and we were taken care of by the people we put our trust in. Yes i said our TRUST. And those people are the CM's...or chatmasters and mistresses of Lit chat. Some are good, others are dissapointing. I just have a few words to say on the steep hill Litchat is rolling down at the speed of a bullet. Now, we are no longer protected by the people we have put our trust in. Yes I said TRUST again. Litchat has turned into a place where the good and honest people can no longer feel comfortable going. We are shunned upon when we need help. We are ridiculed openly. And most depressing and ANGERING is that we are discouraged from voicing opinions or ideas. Or even merely expressing our creativity. And a good example of this is what happend in Lit a nite ago. Two people. Two HONEST< GOOD< LOYAL friends.......were shunned and frowned upon. And you know why? Because they expressed thier fondness and true friendship towards one another. And it was doen by some one of "authority".
Now my next question......why the hell are these highly emotional, highly volatile people allowed to govern us? When is democracy going to make its way into one of all of our's greatest pasttimes? When do we get to vote on who is the BEST person or persons for the job? We need people who are understanding, who do not take crap, and most of all.....DO NOT TAKE SIDES. This is ridiculous.......pure ridiculous. What has happened to society these days? When the bullies of the world are given a "badge" and freedom to belittle, ridicule and DEHUMANIZE what we all hold so dear? OUR FREEDOM OF SPEECH, OUR FREEDOM TO CO-EXIST IN HARMONY?
I know this has been brought to others attention. No one can tell me it hasnt been, time and time again. I MYSELF have asked, begged and pleaded for help from the "higher authorities"...........and look what it got me? Writing this piece of crap as a last resort......or last hope if you will......that my favorite place will indeed be brought back to all of us who hold it dear.
If you dont remember anything else about this post.......please remember this.......yes the good people, and the true friends can be found on the web........and yes even on sex sites, or chat sites, whatever you wish to call it.........so why make these people feel unwelcomed......unloved.....inhuman......literally pieces of shit?

Well, I must say, I don't venture over to Lit's chat much anymore. I am sorry to hear about the ordeals going on over there, but, for some reason, you'll find things (or people) like that all over the net. They are here in AOL's chat rooms, they are here at Lit's BB, they are in Yahoo's chat, and MSN, and Prodigy. You will find Trolls (I was surprised when people in yahoo chat said "trolls"! ) everywhere. Since I don't know any other details of what happened in chat, I'll end this now. Good luck to you. Perhaps you'll give the BB a whirl?

I have watched this go on for months - there is only one cm i feel comfortable going to with a problem - the rest are too busy trying to cyber with someone or don't give a shit.
My impression of a chat room is that people can do or say whatever they want as long as it doesn't constitute a threat -so what's the problem. I perceive this as being one chatmasters reign of power over everyone - including the other chatmasters - disagree with him and look out - this is not my idea of a fun place - I for one don't want to have to worry if i'm in a private room that i may get booted out of it by a cm - nor do i want to be told what i can do or say because it might hurt someone's feelings.

I was at the above mentioned event and two similar events. I was also shocked by the what happened both before and after these events. We all come here for fun and friendship (among other things)...and yet, when 2 people choose to demonstrate their feelings for each other with their friends as witnesses...they are shunned, forbidden, and then punished. What a shame that a site that allows gang bangs, rape fantasies, animal fucking, and sex with family members does not allow a simple demonstration of loving and friendship.
These events were in private, held in a locked room. What a surprise to be suddenly launched from a private room with friends, celebrating friendship, into the lounge.
What a disappointment that a large group of regular chatters had to visit another digichat site a few weeks ago to hold a similar event.
Why are one or two Chat Monitors allowed to make these rules??...Does this mean that all private rooms are monitored and others are at risk of being booted out for "indecent" behavior? Do we now need permission before entering a room? Must we hand in a script for the events that will take place? Or can we trust that as willing users of this site we have the freedom to do what we wish as long as we are in a locked room? I'm sure I accepted a waiver saying I was an adult before entering this site. Therefore, I am capable of making decisions as to what I do once I am here. We are not children...therefore we should not be treated as such.
If a few Chat monitors are going to throw temper tantrums everytime someone does something they don't like (although for the life of me I still don't understand what the issue is with this event) then they should get their toys taken away...why give them that kind of power if they use it unweildingly?

This is gotten way out of hand! When someone is in a private room...it should remain as such. Why the boot from the CM? That was totally uncalled for. There is only one CM I will associate with and/or confide in. The others are always to busy doing what they say is not allowed in the lounge. And YES THAT INCLUDES THE LADIES IN BLUE!!!
A person can not have a private room such as the one last night where close friends joined together to celebrate a beautifull event....but the lounge is allowed to become a WHORE house during the evening and late night hours? I, too, attended the beautiful ceremony shared with friends ... it was an open invitation event to anyone who wanted to be there, in the private room "friends" (all they had to do was ask for the pwd, as we all did).

It was a celebration of true friendship and support ... it symbolized the melding of cyber/reality. Those there recognized the beauty of the emotions shared. We chose to share the happiness with the couple celebrating a union.

Shortly after the lovely vows were spoken, everyone was propelled unwillingly into the lounge, preceded by a broadcast from a chatmonitor "this room is now being closed". What was the terrible offense? Were we raping children? Fucking dogs? Having incestuous sex, as is quite permissible in the Family Room? What is the harm of a cyber wedding? Why should Big Blue forbid such an event?

Apparently, Big Blue Brother and Big Blue Sister did not approve of love and friendship. Well, that's too friggin bad! Keep your noses out of other people's business! You had no right to enforce YOUR views on other adult chatters in a private room. Nobody was being harassed, nor threatened ... nobody was performing illegal activities ... the guests were there under their own free will.

This was the SECOND time that this abuse of power raised its ugly head. After the first cyber wedding, a chatmonitor sent a broadcast stating that it isnt allowed. That edict was largely ignored as "sour grapes" and unenforceable. The only explanation given was that "some people's feelings were hurt because they weren't invited". How ridiculous! In realife, do you have to invite the population of your community to your wedding? In fact, the first event was also an open invitation to anyone who wanted to attend.

Laurel strongly supports freedom of speech on the BB ... we request the same respect in the chatroom. Chat monitors should not be given a license to force their own opinions on other participants ... they too should be subject to monitoring, because when they become "drunk with power" it interferes with the freedom of others.

It feels wonderful for my fellow litfriends to come and speak thier minds. I just wish......that Laurel "strongly" supported those of us who have come to love her site, and faithfully visit it more often then our friends irl. I have made alot of good friends in the year and a half Ive been here, and a few are great, amazing, trustworthy friends, that I feel honoured to be able to call them by name, either here, or on the phone or thru email when I need them. They come running full force to my aid, and I to thiers. It's hard to make true friends, and I think in an atmosphere such as this, its even harder. The bonds that are made here are strong, and very rarely ever broken. Because of the atmosphere that has been surrounding Lit lately I have not had the stamina to keep coming in. Ive missed my friends dearly, and from the wonderful emails and calls from all of you, I feel missed myself. Its time to stand up for ourselves. Someone with "a stick" up thier ass should realize that all of us regulars.....the ones that come here faithfully and make up the majority of chatters that keep the chat room open, need, deserve and finally we are DEMANDING some mutual respect here.

I was Unhappy about what happend to the wedding room, yes it was not right and i do not agree with it. Mostly i think it was a missunderstanding that needs to be dropped. But, this thread has turned into something totally diferent. Its bash the CM's day.

Think before you post things that make no sense. Calling the CM's Nazi's is stupid, of course the chatroom is run by a non elected set of people, they Do not get paid, they lose thier freedom to try and help keep the room from turning into a pit and keeping the minors out.

Calling our Ladies in blue Sluts. <laugh> It is my supreme joy to call LadyLuscious my friend, my Cyberlover, my other half. i was not at the wedding as i was getting ready for work but i must say i have no problem with them. i belive in the right of free speech and that this is a form of that!!!!!

Now if you look at my original post you'll see.....that I said...."Some are good, others are dissapointing". I know not enough of your Lady Luscious's track record or ability. I have seen her in action once or twice and she's incredibly nice and well adjusted. Please look at the general view. I think if you read carefully youll see where it is that Im coming from. Jealousy......hmmm...I can definitly say that is not the case. Never was never will be. As for Anonymously posting. I regret it. I escpecially regret it if you believe it makes my view, and a large percentage of your fellow chatters views "crap". I've been here way too long. If this situation goes on. I want to let all of you know that I do read & appreciate the feedback that you give us about the chat room, both through email and here on the board.

Being that the U.S. Presidential Election is only weeks away, and with politics thick in the air, I would like to take this time to tell you a story rather than responding directly to your complaints, questions, and/or attacks.

When we first started Literotica chat, we had no rules, no chat monitors, and quite often (in the very beginning) no one chatting. Eventually, people found the chat room and it began to take on a life of its own. In the early days, there were numerous complaints about the fact that one person could ruin the chat room for everyone else by being an asshole. There were threats, people claiming to be underage, prolific spammers, mean trolls, stupid trolls, and your average run-of-the-mill garden trolls. At one point, Manu and I even considered shutting the chat room down because the ratio of negative to positive feedback was so far out of whack.

While we were trying to figure out what to do, Loco appeared on the scene with a modest proposal...he offered to step in and do his best to run off the trolls, spammers, and anyone claiming or seeming to be under the age of 18. In return, we agreed to give him nothing but our undying gratitude.

In the time since Loco took this assignment, things have changed tremendously. I would be lying if I told you that we no longer get any complaints. We still do. But, I am proud to say that we also get at least an equal number of compliments or positive stories from people who visit the chat room. As far as the types of complaints that we receive, I can personally tell you that I sleep better at night wondering if one of the chat monitors might have overreacted in cancelling a cyber wedding than I used to wondering if an underage person might be active in an adult chat room.

I cannot imagine any system of government that is going to make everyone happy all of the time. In this situation, though, I can tell you from experience that what we have now is far superior to the anarchy that used to reign. Is Loco perfect? Certainly not. Is he a great guy? You bet he is. Has his presence and participation in the chat room been a positive thing for Literotica? I'll answer by telling you this: this summer (after Loco took over), we had to upgrade our chat hosting account because we had too many people in chat simultaneously for our old plan. At peak times right now, we're approaching the occupancy limit of even the upgraded plan.

In reading all of the email that I get regarding chat, I have no doubt that the chat monitors as a group are doing a great job. When issues have been brought to my attention where my opinion differs from Loco's, he and I have discussed the problem and tried to figure out the best solution for all involved. Again, it is impossible for every person to be happy with everything that happens, all of the time - especially in a real-time environment like the chat room.

I feel like I'm starting to babble a bit, and maybe even repeat myself (I blame the influence of all these stupid political debates) so I will end this post soon.

In conclusion, I would like to make it clear that I understand that there are some specific and addressable problems in chat, but in the big picture I believe the Literotica chat room is as healthy, happy, and fun as it has ever been. Much of the credit for that must go to the chat monitors. I have no doubt that there is room for improvement - and if you elect me, I promise to work with the chatters, the chat monitors, and even the chat trolls to make this chat room the best chat experience you've ever chatted in or at so help me God.

I don't agree with portions of this post ... but then again, this represents what we are fighting for: "freedom of speech" and of opposing opinions.

Druzil, I agree with what you said in your reply. The CM's job is often a thankless one. I appreciate the effort that ALL of them have put in to keep us safe. The referral to "safety nazis" wasn't an incorrect representation of the censorship that ocurred though (and not directed to LL in any way). I didn't see anyone call the CMs "sluts" ... not that slut is bad either *smiles* ... its kinda like a badge of honor to be called that in Lit, don't you think?

The jist of the arguement was and IS "the abuse of power" ... the forcing of one's own opinions as a matter of policy. If Literotica has a policy not to allow private weddings or ceremonies in a private room, I would like to hear that from Laurel. She is open-minded enough to discuss the opposing viewpoints. To allow the 'impramature' ruling of the "no wedding" policy to be enforced without explanation, nor discussion, is what the arguement is about.

I don't think that your Lady was singled out in any of the previous threads ... the arguement seems to be directed at an edict from Loco, which was then enforced by ksss ... and possibly comments made by JD. I enjoy chatting with the three of them as well; but, in this case they each need a THWAPPP! in the back of the head!

Not wanting anyone to be criticized or admonished, a little clarification from Laurel regarding Literotica's policy on cyber weddings in private rooms would be appreciated.

What would a cyber wedding be- people who would get married in RL if they ever met? While everyone is entitled to their opinion you are white washing this whole incident. It is not really about who was involved but about what is being controlled. There are far worse things that go on in lit and i don't see any cm's doing anything about it but have a happy ocassion - no way. Bust into a private room - who cares - you are gonna lose all the regulars on this one - no one likes to think that they are being watched in a private room or that they can be interrupted. Loco has gone too far this time - if a cm did something that they are not supposed to do than that cm should be removed - and if a cm insults a room full of people that are having fun and not hurting anyone then that should be addressed as well. This issue is not that you can sleep well - it is how the room is now being controlled - it is no longer a democracy but it is a dictatorship.
