What the hell happened?!?!?!

OH MY GOD!!!! CHYOO LIVES!!!!

Now can someone tell me what the hell happened here?

Long, long ago, I found Chyoo, and started posting stories. Then, suddenly, it died. No new stories, and slowly, no new updates. Nothing. The "Discuss" link that led here was removed, but I still knew the forums existed. So I came here.

I poked around, and found Of Habit's Chyoo 3 (before he was really ready to tell anyone about it) and posted about it here. (those threads seem to have gone the way of the dodo) I went through the same process as TwistedClown, finding Sun Lane Media, and getting no reply. I emailed any address I could find there, and some other addresses at Literotica. I never got any reply. I follow ed some Chyoo3 stuff for a while... Found the way that Chyoo3 copied chyoo2 passwords very clever, until something at Chyoo2 changed, which we found funny because we didn't think that ANYONE was watching it any more.

Just today, as I was clearing up my "special" email account, I found an old notice from Chyoo, and went to the site. That's when I found that the site is ALIVE!!!!
(YAHOO, WOOT, YIPEE, and ZOWIE!!!)

Now I see Manu has given people people Moderator access (thankyou thankyou thankyou) and things are being fixed, and updated! (thankyou thankyou thankyou) and that's great because I have a several postings to a story that was never approved that I'm dying to put up.... If I can still find the old text files.

But...
Can someone tell me what happened here? I'm not trying to look a gift horse in the mouth, but i love a good mystery. How did we (the literotica/Chyoo comunity) get back into Chyoo? Who owned it, and are they awake again, or did we get Chyoo from them?

I understand *if* there was some sort of legal mess, there may be things that you can't, or really shouldn't say, but please give me something.

As I said, I looked into this ages ago, and I got no where. Now that someone has gotten somewhere, (and my oh my how far we have gone) I just want to know how!

I have a theory that Manu or his boss got tired of getting the emails and PMs and decided to do something about it. They knew they didn't have time to maintain the site, so make four moderators to do it for you.

I'm just lucky/glad that I was chosen to be one.

Well that and because they so rarely ever touched the site, and there was a daunting number of stories to be weeded through [I believe you mentioned something about 2000], it makes more sense to have popular writers take care of it, as they would understand better as to what the members would want Chyoo to look like.

Well, those were the number of approved stories. There were about 800 pending stories.

Still...if ya think about it...Lit gets a number of stories in...and most of those are rather long stories, takes time to edit and approve those...ah well lol

I hadn't been in chyoo in maybe a year or so. I still checked into my story during that time (on the off chance someone contributed), but I never tried to visit or contribute to other stories. Then suddenly I got an email and this year-or-so-old thread I once submitted was approved. Then I visit the forum and voila!

New forum, moderators taking over abandoned threads, interested authors taking over those stories form the mods... wow!

this was exactly what we were asking for long ago (seems like ages rather than the over-a-year.)
