admittedly, it's been a LONG time since i went in one. they used to have reasonably priced casual clothes. today i went in one to look for a denim jacket-just a basic denim trucker style jacket. they wanted seventy frigging bucks! i can buy a levi brand jacket cheaper than that, levi signature line is less than half that price. have i been away that long?

Go with check shirts, jeans and a waistline. Think Robert Redford and you can't go far wrong. Older guys should look at ease with themselves - irresistible

They fall under The Gap/Banana Republic family. Both banners are hurting. Old Navy is doing ok. Guess they need to make up for their losses somewhere.

I only buy when on sale or liquidation. I paid $10 for mine.

I used to buy all of my work attire from Old Navy. These were sturdy, affordable, clothes that lasted for years of abuse I call doing laundry. I'd usually top up every year after the summer with a few new heavy long-sleeve tees and henleys. These clothes fit me quite well, and that's not easy. One year I walked into the store and every shirt looked like a child's football jersey... numbers and shit. Next year, same. I smelled what the commerce was cookin. I've honestly never found "my thing" for easy and acceptable work attire since.

Looking at Old Navy now, all they have is polos and button-ups. I'm a pullover type of guy, but fuck polo shirts. Half the button-ups look like Hawaiin shirts. I'm not a young lad anymore, but I'm not a Hawaiin shirt old-guy just yet either.

they have sales all the time where the clothes are 50% off or better, just wait for a sale.

Never been in an Old Navy store. There's one a mile away. Near the Walmart. I've never been in one of those, either. I went in a Target in 1985, I think.
