Not in W's case. There would be a lot of things-done on the list, but they would not be good things. The only good thing he ever did was AIDS aid to Africa, and one or two positive environmental policies completely outweighed by his negative ones.

In case you didn't get the memo, W isn't the pres anymore. So the constant blame on W is a moot point, and frankly I'm sick of hearing it.

So let's look at it from this perspective;

Congress was Dem controlled for much of that time as well as for the first two years of Obama's presidency. If they had done such a bang-up job for that time, don't you think they would have retained control of both houses?

Fact is they didn't.

You can take that however you want but in my opinion it seems to be both a referendum on congress and Obama's first years of his presidency. So while all that stuff you listed may be great, it didn't solve the important issues.

The lackluster economy.
Sluggish job growth.
Lack of fiscal responsibility.

The problem, as I see it, is that too much time is being spent with political infighting and "passing around the blame" instead of actually getting down to business and getting the job done.

First, you're not asking about Obama here. Second, IMO, the results of the 2010 midterms had much less to do with the economy than with cultural backlash. The Tea Party was based on that and still is, not on "Taxed Enough Already."

To start with, I'd have followed through with the missile defense for Poland that Obama backed out on as one of his first official acts.
I would not have signed a nuke reduction deal with Russia, it did not benefit us in any way, shape or form. Russia gave up nothing.
Russia overtly supports Iran and Syria - explain to me again why Poland doesn't have that defense system and why Obama reduced our nuclear arsenal.
