You need to go read the constitution....the SCOTUS is not where policy is made (not supposed to be anyhow) that is what the house and senate are for. The SCOTUS is clearly tasked with determining the constitutionality of the legislation written and passed by legislators (NOT JUDGES) and signed into law by whatever executive authority said legislative body resides under. When you start saying "Fuck it!" to checks and balances....it should be every citizens concern.

I couldn't give a shit about her race....what I care about is that we put a Justice on the bench who thinks her race somehow makes her special and she can just do whatever the fuck she wants because of it. I would dare say that might be a reasonable concern considering she holds one of the most powerful positions in the nation.

As for that specific case, I am by no means a law expert, butthe basic premise seems to be " a state has the right to ban certain weapons", *shrug*, we're all about states rigts above all else.

Basic premise is not the same as reality. You cannot as a supreme court justice get up there and say states don't have to abide by this part of the constitution b/c I don't like it. That's political activist bull shit.

I should point of, I dont really have a problem with the dreaded "political activitists", and you could say you fear she will become one, but I look at her record and see main stream, not radical.

Not in W's case. There would be a lot of things-done on the list, but they would not be good things. The only good thing he ever did was AIDS aid to Africa, and one or two positive environmental policies completely outweighed by his negative ones.
