I couldn't get past the first 20-odd pages of the book due to the shocking writing.
No way am I sitting through a movie full of bad actors!

The writing was horrible! I however, am easily amused, so I've read the first book several times (nothing much else out there to read) and I'm going to see the movie. I doubt I'll find it entertaining, but what else is there to do where there's smut to watch on the big screen. Ok, wait, I might enjoy it. It's not like they have great acting in porn anyway.

It sounds to me like the actors had no chemistry with each other and the director argued constantly with them and the writer. I already watched Twilight and that was with the actors in a relationship off screen. I can't imagine what kinda hell this'll be.

True this. The thing that annoyed me most when the book came out was the amount of folks I heard say they were reading it and they normally never read anything . Of all the books in the world and they choose that shite.

He was pretty good in The Other Boleyn Girl, which was largely crap.
It's not a criticism of him as an actor, it just turns out that my suspension of disbelief does apparently have bounds. The character is too young and they cast a young looking actor. Personal taste, that's all.
