What makes you nervous?

Tomorrow, when the kidlet has his last big op, I will be a little afraid. But I have enough faith in his excellent surgeon that my fear is more about the unknown possible side-effects, not the surgery itself.

Best wishes, good luck, best of health, may the surgeon have a steady hand etc for the best outcome for your child.

The waiting is the hardest IMO till you see your loved one's smile again and to know they are hopefully on their way to recovery and better health.

What makes me nervous?

I consider myself to be a people person. I love interacting with people but for the most part I am extremely shy and do not like people in my personal space. (Unless they are loved ones or close friends.)

I don't like stick insects

or wetas.

They freak me right out.
I also freak out about heights and closed spaces.

So, if you are a stranger with a stick insect on an elevator and throw a weta at me and try to embrace me? I might wee myself.

But I cope well in an emergency and fall apart later. ;)

Surprisingly, despite sitting in the srgeons office and listening to all the possible complications that could happen, the kidlet isn't nervous or afraid at all.
He's more excited that this could be the last of his treatment (it's been a long 7+ months) and that his life can get back to normal.

Weta bugs just look wrong.

Children are amazing beings. More often than not they are more aware of how the adults will cope than what could happen to them.

They put on a brave face and are so staunch whilst their parents are worried, frazzled and beside themselves.

When my kids had to have minor stuff done I was literally pooping myself and they breezed through the experience and bounced back. Silly me.

Here's hoping all is well for you both.

Wetas are truly evil. I fear they are conspiring and planning my demise.

Drunk and drugged drivers.

No matter how carefully I drive, I and my family at are at risk from vehicles with drivers out of their skulls on drink and/or drugs.

I used to be nervous of these.
But then it occured to me that there was nothing I could do, short of staying home in a bubble, because I had zero control over them being out there.
So instead I went off and did a defensive-driving course and an advanced-driver training course to maximise my chances of evasion, should something unexpected happen.

That's about as proactive as you can get. Very nice.

As each of my kids grows up and gets their drivers lisence, I have paid for them to do the same courses.
Personally, I think they should be compulsory.

Admitting things that make me nervous...

...oh hell...

I just did it, didn't I?

Seriously, though? Heights freak me the hell out. I think I plunged to my death in a past life or something.

Anything from the IRS. I don't have anything to fear...I think, but still, they seem to do what they want I have concluded from experiences friends have had.

Straight up! Their little legs wouldn't stand a chance with fullas like Richie McCaw.

Tickle me elmo.

I made it back alright. I'm a good driver but I just don't like 4 lane busy highways.

I don't like driving those either, too many cars, too much going on and too fast.

Morons.....morons who don't know when to shut the fuck up, they are by far the biggest fuckin' hazard to those around them than any other shit except possibly drunk/texting drivers. Just sayin'.....

Yes, and people changing multiple lanes, just scary. I do alright though, I try to keep my head about me.

i would have to say on a scale of 1-10, my nerves are holding somewhere around an 8.2. this is an improvement in the last month. i need to take things slowly due to curves ahead. find the right pace for a marathon, not a sprint.

Folks yakking away on their cell phones while driving.

The ones who wait till they are almost past their exit and race across four lanes to get there.

Go slow and slow down, that's the way to do it.

Debt makes me nervous.
oh, and now I'm too nervous to ever trust someone with my well being or financial security ever again.
