I have a friend who "I feel" is a true Dom.. Lived with a Dom for years as a slave. Learned the true meaning of respect, honesty, and knowing how to pleasure but not hurt. When I say hurt meaning there are some Doms out there with Floggers and whips whipping where ever on thier "so called" subs body... I truely believe that "some" (not all) of these Doms don;t know what the hell they are doing. Don't they know that they can seriously injure a person by whipping them?

So my question is how did you learn to become a dom?
Were you a slave at first? Or did you learn by watching?
OR??????????????

Although many so called "doms" these days simply entitle themselves Dominate Masters after some exposure to the Internet BDSM scene; there ARE some of us who EARNED our titles the old fashioned way. I started as a submissive in a European house of domination and slowly worked my way up to the rank of dominate master. As part of my cirriculum, I learned the ways of SSC (Safe, Sane and Consensual), as well as use of the whip cane and flogger.

Be well.

Short version of my story
cause I have posted it many times on these boards

I had first experence when I was 15
Did not know there was a life style till I was 24
at about 26-28 (not sure)
I subed to a Dom couple
as training

I am not a sub
I am not a switch
but year with them taught me much

I began in the scene as a novice Dominant.

I quickly realized that bottoming was fun, when I began doing it to see what it was like. I started out by doing that, and doing it more often than Topping.

I switched for about 5 years.

Now I'm a less-novice Dominant. I had it right the first time.

I had a lot of people interested in helping me learn along the way. Doms and submissives who volunteered to show me stuff. Submissives who volunteered for a low-pressure bottoming scene and who would give me feedback afterward.

I never started, I just grew. I was born with a manipulative streak as far as I can tell, the masochism came later. Experience came with experience. I just met more people who like to be dom/ed, and/or pain, compaired notes, took a few for a spin, and learned from it. So far, I've tried just about everything, and came to rest with dominant masochism.

While I'm neither 100% Dominant or 100% submissive, I am both. I started out as a submissive then a fully collared slave, during which time, I was also learning.

I was soaking in the lessons that all our dominant friends were showing us and everything being said about safety, especially since toys used wrong can severely injure a person. I learned about various toys by watching how they are used and how they were used on me.

Now, I start off light, with safety in mind.
