What is your most embarrassing lit moment?

Spill. I’m sure we have all inadvertently made asses of ourselves. I’ll go first. There was a person I would bump into on the threads. She was witty, kind and smart. I wanted to pm her, but wasn’t sure how to approach it. One day on the “Have you crushed on the litster above you” thread, she was the last poster. Finally! An opportunity! I said “We haven’t really met, so pending”. I got an instant pm that didn’t seem quite right. I had responded to someone with a similar name, but was not her.

Thankfully, I finally got it all sorted and messaged the right person. She not only accepts me for the idiot I am, but adopted me as her big brother.

Let’s hear yours.

I got a “dear Mary” type reply to a PM I sent someone once, it really embarrassed me at the time.

I can laugh about it now.

Hhhmmmmm ok so on a word thread I thought I hwd reqd the rules right, I hadn't actually, so I fudged up and ended up getting a message from the thread owner. Luckily she was nice and explained it, still talk to her on occasion and make sure to read rules now before I post.

I pay no attention to rules. But also embarrass myself all the time. Mostly by just being myself, because being me is humiliating.

Well, luckily I mostly have no shame. I've had some rather cringeworthy 2-3am messages after a bit too much wine, but eh it seemed all good, people rolled with it at the time or the next morning. I guess what jumps to mind was accidentally creating a group skype chat where I had no intention of making it a group. There are also some accidental kik or skype calls over the years, but I think the group chat was the worst.

Oh. We’re bringing Skype into this? Just ask poor @AmberLGreen how many times I’ve butt dialed her! She’s kinda gotten used to it at this point. I once told her “I’m glad I usually pocket dial you, you already know I’m an idiot.”
Her response “I’m sure all your friends know you’re an idiot.”

neither did I really, but it didn't actually try to merge them, just invited all I was actively talking with into a group chat. where I suspect they could see who all was invited. doh.

I don’t think you butt calling me on Skype is the most embarrassing thing of yours concerning me. That would be the PM with the voice message that you quickly told me not to listen to because you had attached the wrong one and the new message had the correct one that I could listen to. Two seconds of listening to the “correct” one and I knew that definitely WASN’T for me. Only a Doofus could attach the wrong message twice
