Today has gotten me to thinking about love. What it means to each of us and how we all handle the extreme emotions that become of it.

My first infatuation's name was Timmy.

He was so cute and adorable.. pale blond hair, sparkeling green eyes kissable lips.

I crushed on him from kindergarten through sixth grade. He never noticed me. *sniff*

I always called her Liz she is of a mexican family she was born here, her Birthdate is 4-3-56 she is a year older than me although we never had sex she was a blast to be with all the time I have not see her since the early 80's so I do not know if she is married or not that is why I X'ed out most of her last name but to this day I think about her

Most of these sound like first crushes to me.

My first loves name was Kristin and we dated for over six years all through HS and the first three years of college. So from the time I was 15 she 14 and then till I was 21 and she 20. We still talk every once in a while and I still think of her as my best friend.

OMG--too funny, because my husband gives me shit over this all the time now. My first "love"...We were 4 and in daycare together. His name was Richie Pennington...and no, he's not a QB. He was cute, I was cuter...then he started liking my best friend and we fought over him for years.

His name was Johnny 'nosepicker' Sigliani. (He used to use his Number 2 pencil to pick his nose discreetly.)

He got two of his 4th grade enforcers to pin me against the wall in the lunchroom whereupon he threw peas and mashed potatoes at me until I let him kiss me. (I bit his lip for that)

In 1st grade, his name was Nicholas...

But the first TRUE love was Rob. He was blonde-haired and blue-eyed. He was two years older than I and I was 17. He was an Eagle Scout and I got to wear his ring!! It was a summer romance and when school started, we needed to cool things off a bit. He was in college, you know! LOL

Anyway, we remained friends and I carried a torch for him for a long time... nearly 10 years. He had since moved away. After I was married, I had learned he was back in town. We got together for a couple of drinks to catch up on old times and what I learned was that he was the same 19 year old boy! And he probably always would be.

Fast forward 9 years, he is STILL single, and still hanging out with all the old crew... some things never change. But damn, he still looks good!

My first and only real love was my second husband. Our divorce became final last week. His name was Ivan, and I'll never, ever forget it. Why? First love? His name is Alex. We met when I was in high school through a "pen friends" ad. He lived in England. We wrote to each other for 3 years, then after I graduated, I moved to England to be with him. I ended up playing drums in his punk band. Stayed together for a year, then I came back to go to school.
