What is BTB?

And yes, PoisonPen33 that would be an LW story and a very interesting one to read and even write. If you don't want to write it, you should go over to the Story Ideas forum and post it there as an Idea. I might even take that up myself, if I wasn't in a slump right now. Too many stories to finish and too much going on in RL. Oy Vey.

I'm gonna take a swing at writing it once I finish editing my current series. One of the best ways to grow as an author is to step/write outside your comfort zone, right?

That's what they say. Only I have never found out who 'they' are. ;)

We mostly post in LW. You need think skin, but there are more readers in that category. Our LW stories get three times the readers than our Romance or E&V stories - and ten times the comments.

Yes, one will get lots of attention there. I quoted Oscar Wilde about it, “There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about.” That said, I only post there if I have something relevant. I've heard that some people submit there just to see the explosions go off.

I would encourage NoJo not to give up on the entire site. Be on other sites too if you wish, but there are certain advantages (the huge readership for one) to being on Literotica.

No, no, not 'THEM!,' them.

The giant ants: a very good movie for such a low budget. Much of it is structured as a detective story. I love when they find the boxcar that was broken into for the sugar inside. Good use of location filming too.

I agree; it's one of the best giant bug movies of the 1950s. It was fairly suspenseful. Starred a young James Arness, too. His younger brother Peter Graves was in the giant grasshopper movie, the The Beginning of the End. That wasn't nearly as good, probably because grasshoppers just aren't as scary as ants.

But... grasshoppers eat anything when they swarm. Ants are a little more picky.

Yeah, but the ants movie - the opening scenes with the girl wandering in the desert, then the destroyed diner at night during the wind storm, are incredibly creepy. When we were kids, my parents turned the TV off because we got so scared just from that.

Grasshoppers, as far as I know, are strictly herbivores. They don't eat animals or people, even when they swarm. Even if they turned huge, they'd pretty much ignore us.

Ants come in all types, but many are predatory and most ants I've seen won't pass up the chance to attack an injured insect, tear it to pieces, and take the pieces back to the nest. Ants also sting and make acid, which is cool. Plus, they're highly social, unlike grasshoppers, which makes them more interesting.

The scene where the ants are attacking the freighter always got to me - even on the water, you weren't safe.

There is another type of story involving a cheating wife... RAAC = Reconciliation at all costs. The husband or wife find their spouse is cheating and decide that they care about each other too much to divorce, plus there may be children involved, etc.
Zeb, there is a third option: Reconciliation. That's where there is repentance, atonement, EARNING the reconciliation. The difference from RAAC is that in a RAAC the cheater does nothing to deserve reconciliation, but gets it anyway.

torture porn for women hating incels written by women hating authors in which women are raped abused and tortured for the amusement of low life 'men'.

Let me know if I'm being too subtle and I'll be more blunt.
Sugar coating it, ain't ya?

"BTB", eh? Whelp, I've never written a LW story, and now I never will. In fact this thread has put me off posting any more stories on this site!

Publish in LW to piss them off. That's what I want to do.

R or RAAC is essentially the same animal. There is atonement in RAAC, at least in my stories there is. But despite the all costs they are the same, depending on how you look at it but they all atone for their sins, one way or another.

When you get right down to it... protein is protein. I have read where grasshoppers have swarmed and eaten a water buffalo, right down to the bones. Protein cravings negate all. They even eat each other during a swarm event.

Quite right! I'd forgotten that. There aren't quite as many of those stories, but there are plenty of them and they make up a completely separate subgenre with a separate appeal.

The BTB crowd hates these stories as well, because they insist that the man should get revenge on the cheating wife, not reconcile with her.

The popularity of these stories, along with the BTB stories, at Literotica has always intrigued me because there's nothing erotic about them. The BTB stories are basically revenge tales, and the RAAC stories are somber dramas.
There seems to be a subcategory of BTB stories where the first relationship, cheating & revenge are just the intro to the story, to setup the backstory for the MC for when he later finds a 'truly loving' woman. These stories can be done really well (Irish Eyes immediately comes to mind, although it's not categorized as a Loving Wives tale). As long as the BTB is not the sole focus of the story, which often devolves into misogyny, I can tolerate them. I have seen some where the MC lets the cheaters have enough rope to hang themselves & comes up with a clever revenge plot (for example, Fool Me Once).

I just had the ultimate Burn The Bitch story rejected, and for good reason. It focused solely on the cheated on husband committing a gratuitously violent mass shooting. There really was no excuse for it except to Burn The Burn The Bitch trolls.

The important issues here is that the authors are not getting paid. The authors don't win any monetary prizes. The vast majority of us remain anonymous so we don't earn any recognition. As a result, what the self appointed guardians of morality who leave such hateful comments think is irrelevant.

Fuck Em.
