What if

Of course! Maybe i should go look at AH though since it seems it is allowed. I have a question I would like to ask.
Yellowbirdy - don't let the "junior moderators" bully you. There was nothing wrong with your OP. Many have differing opinions of how this board should be run. But there is an official moderator. And unless he tells you that you are doing something wrong, you are fine.

Thanks!

Please write this!
I will beg for this one!
I've actually thought of a plausible way to do this, but it's going to take some time before I even start it. What I proposed is to write this in the first person from Esther's point-of-view. Except she's about nineteen in 1903 - she's seventeen in the movie, but I think this should go on to Lit, not some other site. And she's looking back on this from the early to mid-1960's, when she'd be in her seventies, which really isn't that old.

And her first husband was Truett, as shown in the movie, but I have him passing from some illness in maybe the 1930's and she remarries. In any case, by 1963 or '64 she's got some kids and grandkids and she's not actually living in the city of St. Louis by that point. (I'll find some place to put her.)

So the point of her tale here, first of all, is to point out the hidden sexual mores of 1903, when she says that people did more than they would admit to. (The opposite of the 1960's as she well knows). So she says that most girls were virtuous only by a very narrow definition. One of the first thing she confesses to is that she masturbated back then - quite often in fact. And she goes into some detail about how she did it and what she felt. I think she prefers the lessening of hypocrisy in the latter era, and she states that in fact.

The next part will include John Truett, the boy literally next door, and I'll get into all that. How does it sound so far?

... except for the tiny fact that it contained no story idea.

This is a minor failing, I realise fully, in the eyes of those who don't care too much for - or have little acquaintance with - logic and rational thought. The thread does not belong on this board. I'm not saying it doesn't belong on the forums. End of. No "bullying" involved, merely the pointing out of facts. Perhaps you'd care to go and post a sound recording on the 'visual artists' board? Or maybe put a personal up in 'story feedback'..? You know: let it rip, why not?
