What have I done? And why did I do it?

For the first time, I have shown 2 of my stories to a friend. It was her spider and her snakes that inspired my Halloween and Valentine's Day stories, so I thought it was only fair.

I'm a nervous wreck.

What the hell was I thinking?

If she's a good friend she'll probably want to read more of your stuff.

If not, she may just ignore it and become distant and cold.

I have told many I know what I do. Of course, I'm retired and have nothing to lose except their friendship. If they think bad of me, they weren't very good friends to begin with, so no loss.

I know you took a risk, yet there was a story today....I can't find it. It was a young teachers aide of special needs children who was outed by a prude...she was moonlighting as a swimsuit model.

...found it.

Did you think she would be receptive to them? It doesn't have to be a bad thing.

She's completely trustworthy and understands what's at stake. We've been friends for a long time. She's read stories on lit before. There will blushing though.

I'm lucky.

There is nothing anyone could ever accuse me of that people who know me wouldn't say, "Him? Yeah he seems the type."

Ah, then what the worry? That she won't like them?

Actually, I'm most concerned that I goofed on the science stuff, despite the number of times I grilled her. It's a little bit like waiting for the teacher to pass back the midterms.

That's why you're using her as a psuedo editor, right? ;)

I know the circumstances of your job make it probably far different from my own. Things that I could do wont be judged in the same light.

It's a crappy standard we have set when we ask people to do something we couldn't then treat them badly when they show themselves to be just as 'human' as the rest of us.

A lot of the people I work with know what I do for my 'little hobby' here. Most laugh about it. A few have dismissed it a just 'porn' writing. "Any one can write about sex."

A couple have read some of my stories here.

You're a good writer. With good stories. And you are justifiably proud of them. You want to share that pride in your work. She is a friend, she has as you said read stories here. She is an 'adult' with all of an adults passions. If after she reads your stories she can't handle the fact that you are an 'adult writer' then as was said she may become distant.

Tell what's in your heart is always a risk.

Here in the bible belt I have to be careful of the people I tell. Not for the same reason as you of course. I told my Mom, got no comment.Told her I took second in a contest here. her only comment on it.

"Well... that's good."

And I imagine most of that had to do with the fact I mentioned the prize money.

You trust your friend. You showed her the stories because you're proud of them and she was somewhat helpful in their inspiration. You want... no... in some ways you need her approval.

Because she's a friend. I hope this works out well.

You're a good writer, who's a bit naughty.:D

I had to delete a rather long and detailed response when I saw this update.

Then I had to wait until I could quit laughing hysterically to formulate this response.

Speaking as the child of two teachers, "nyah nyah nyah nyah"

Honestly, though, this is the exact reason that my wife who knows that I am attempting to write erotica, but not that I have actually completed (much less submitted) any stories, has not seen any of them for a very, very long time. She got her BA in English with a minor in Women's Studies.

There's always some brave citizen ready to step up and keep the world safe from swimsuit models.

If she's a good friend there's nothing to worry about right? Now she just knows you a bit better.

I spoke to my brother yesterday, for the first time in three years, and I was a gnat's pube from telling him and his fiancee about what I write. I didn't because it would mean my whole family knowing. This morning I'm wondering why that'd be a bad thing.

You might notice there are no illustrations of her 'other' job.
All in all, it's a bit of a non-story, I think.

.

Why is there no 'education' in "Men's Studies"?
Not a deal of equality, is there?
[sorry; it's my pills have yet to start work !]

You could probably get away with hopping on a plane to Venezuela and spending a couple of years passing yourself off as a Swedish missionary called Inge until the furore dies down.

:D

That sounds like a plot bunny with a lot of potential btw. Busty Swedish missionaries are bound to make for a great story...

Actually the story I first read had about 10 pictures of her. They were all nudes, but the sexy bits were hidden. You actually saw more of her than if she was in a bikini but no sexy bits.

Something like this...this is her by the way.

I think killing her would be an overreaction. You could probably get away with hopping on a plane to Venezuela and spending a couple of years passing yourself off as a Swedish missionary called Inge until the furore dies down.

I speak Spanish. Not Swedish.

Nobody in my circle of work friends talks about sex too much. There aren't even any men in our end of the building. We will be blushing and giggling in the hallway this morning for sure.

Gotta go to work. Ugh.

Phew. We're still friends. She read Jeffrey's Murderer. She said she never would have chosen to read it because it's a lesbian story (also part of my anxiety), but that she was pleasantly surprised at how the spider was worked in.

There was no blushing. She's a science teacher. She's covering the reproductive system with 14 year olds. She's very matter of fact about everything.

It's all good.

Thanks for letting me stress out!

:)

Now you have to wonder what she's thinking now that you've laid a lesbian story on her. :D

Are you trying to tell her something or just showing her how you used her spider?

It's all about the spider. The lesbian angle was the most efficient way to get them in bed so she could meet the spider. College girls- one sleeping at the other's house because they're friends. Didn't have to write the dating part.

I had started it twice with different combinations of straight characters. It was too cumbersome.
