Remember?

The guys who were going to kick everyone's ass. Yeah, I know, they are hiding in the mountains.

Nobody actually thought the Taliban was any kind of formidable force, the media just built them up that way to increase the gate, just like when they warned us about Iraq's Republican Guard. Pushovers, just like slapping up a child. Is this a big surprise to anyone?

What happened to the Taliban? I'll tell you what happened to the Taliban..

1) They believed they were given the right to rule by Allah - Well, they were wrong..

2) They were foolish enough to listen to Osama bin Laden's rants on why the 'American infidels must die' - Big mistake there, boys..

3) They harbored bin Laden and granted him asylum - Come on.. You were just asking for trouble..

4) They refused to hand bin Laden over, knowing full well what would happen if they didn't - Sheer stupidity..

5) They vowed that they would 'kill the Americans' because we began bombing them - You asked for it, dipshits..

6) They got so caught up with themselves that they forgot about the Northern Alliance rebels, and blew them off as a rag-tag group - Never underestimate your foe..

7) They fell on their proverbial asses when the Northern Alliance boys took charge after weeks of American bombing campaigns that resulted in the softening up of Taliban positions - Didn't see that one coming, did ya?

8) And now, they've taken to mountains like the bunch of gutless fucking cowards that they are, in hopes that they can rely on guerilla warfare to combat the Northern Alliance - Wrong-o.. The Northern Alliance, in accordance with the international coalition, will carve your asses out of those mountains.. And if that's not bad enough, Uncle Sam is looking to run up the score @ any costs to put an end to the Taliban and bin Laden..

What does this mean? It means that no matte how far those fuckers wanna run, we'll hunt them down.. And y'know what'll happen then? They'll die tired..

nudge nudge

Gridiron please dont forget all the other countries that are supporting you Americans.
UK marines, commandos and please dont forget the SAS who disapeared from the UK 4 days after sept 11th. We know where they went.

The Iraq's did have the 4th largest army in the world at the time. Nothing to laugh at when you think abou it. I mean they had their whole army there and home field advantage.

What they were missing was air support first of all. No one is going to be able to touch us in air power for at least the next 20 years, not with the new Joint Strike Fighter that is going through phase two of development.

They had a lot of men and equipment, but it was obsolete compared to our guys equipment. They were using soviet tactics, which can be good tactics, but they were using them poorly and we have always trained to fight soviet tactics. The Soviets never gave enough authority over to there smaller unit comanders to make decsions. Low level officers and NonComs could not make full use of a changing tactical situation becuase they did not have the authority to make decisions on the fly.

Our guys just fought better and had better equipment. That plus our complete air superiority is what made them pushovers.

gridiron...

a lot of your points are valid but...

it's unwise to gloat when you weren't playing on a level field. I remember other times and other places when America didn't do quite so well...

You're just so bitter and envious. I sometimes wonder how you got that way....not for long though.

I wonder if we should list all the places where the British have had their asses kicked. Besides Afghanistan, I mean.

The difference betwen the two of us is that the Brits admit their defeats. America tends to make their's into Hollywood successes...

Another occasion when the Americans had an easy fight of it.

The Brits were fighting a World War with the French at the time.

You were just a skirmish...

:p

Who are you talking to? Her or me? I thought the British were so good with the language. Exceptions to every rule, I suppose.

I may bow out and watch her kick your ass for a while. I know she's profoundly capable of it.

Sorry PC that's the difficulty of replying

to posts too quickly.

First one was for you, second for pagangirl.

Same time same place tomorrow?

:)

ahhh... so it was like a junior varsity game that didn't really matter? makes total sense to me.

too bad you lost a whole fucking country in the process.

but wait, you got India. BRAVO! Great job there.

That was the whole idea. The French were way ahead of the game controlling most of India and extending into the South East Asia area.

We had to let America go to fight the real war. Oh yeah we showed some token fight for the folks back home.

But really we wanted you to win...

Pretty good analysis Azzie, although I don't know if I'd say Soviet tactics were "good". They've never really succeeded anywhere.

Good gods... sarcasm is lost on some people...

THIS is what i meant by 'great job'

It is undoubtedly true that the British built modern cities with modern conveniences for their administrative officers. But it should be noted that these were exclusive zones not intended for the "natives" to enjoy. Consider that in 1911, 69 per cent of Bombay's population lived in one-room tenements (as against 6 per cent in London in the same year). The 1931 census revealed that the figure had increased to 74 per cent - with one-third living more than 5 to a room. The same was true of Karachi and Ahmedabad. After the Second World War, 13 per cent of Bombay's population slept on the streets. As for sanitation, 10-15 tenements typically shared one water tap!

In 1854, Sir Arthur Cotton writing in "Public Works in India" noted: "Public works have been almost entirely neglected throughout India... The motto hitherto has been: 'Do nothing, have nothing done, let nobody do anything....." Adding that the Company was unconcerned if people died of famine, or if they lacked roads and water.

Nothing can be more revealing than the the remark by John Bright in the House of Commons on June 24, 1858, "The single city of Manchester, in the supply of its inhabitants with the single article of water, has spent a larger sum of money than the East India Company has spent in the fourteen years from 1834 to 1848 in public works of every kind throughout the whole of its vast dominions."

I suppose I should be thanking you for not wasting your time with the lil ol' US. Being a 3rd world country really doesn't appeal.

tut..tut..pagangirl...

and you don't recognise the use of your own sarcasm against you to score a point?

And having to use cut and paste techniques to prove an argument...

No it's no good I've lost all respect for you and to think I almost thought that you were a worthy successor to...aww never mind.

<<leaves thread shaking head sadly>>

Oh, sorry, silly me.

Using documented information in order to prove a point is against the rules isn't it?

I'm just wondering ......

Miles why would you think anyone would be concerned about the taliban. The Taliban is just a front, a diversion of the truth.

sure they were put up and propped up front men terrorizing and living the good life in their country.

Sorry but the true POWER is the select small rich and very select few that run and help finance the al-qaida. Those people are the true targets and are very slippery.

What will happen in other countries where they are living ?
will the US just waltz into the next 35 countries with them ?

Scary stuff
