What Happened To My Pictures Thread?

Maybe I'm blind, but I can't see it in the list.

If it had been moved--the thread name should still be there with the word MOVED after it, so I don't think that's what happened.

If it was deleted, nobody took the time or the courtesy to inform me as to why. The only reason I could think to delete it would be copyright infringement (I took pains to make sure none of mine were copyrighted, but I suppose I might have missed something), but rather that deleting the whole thread, which is offensive to the thread starter especially since she took care NOT to post copyrighted images, why not just delete the offending picture or two?

If it was deleted for any other reason, I'd strongly appreciate a public message or a PM as to why from the deleter. Before starting this thread, I'd checked past thread history and seen that picture threads were not out of line here (see for instance, Jame Bondage's recent thread containing photos of men tied up).

So...what gives and why didn't anybody inform me? If I start another picture thread, will it be deleted just as abruptly and without warning?

I'm hoping I'm just blind, actually, and I just happened to miss it the three times I paged through the list of topics. If you've seen my lost thread, please send me a link.

If it contained copyrighted images, I am sure it was moved. Otherwise, check the amateur pic forum or do a search of your own name to find the thread.

Why aren't copyrighted images simply deleted within the thread and the poster warned?

Anyway, I prefer to believe Rocso did something to it out of spite. It'd be just like him!

Excuse me for differing, but I think I deserve an answer from the person who deleted or moved the thread, MissTaken. I don't have time to go searching all over the place for my own legitimate thread which I expected to find right here this moring.

I did nothing wrong according to forum rules, as far as I can see, and moving a thread with no warning to the thread starter who put a lot of effort into to it and without putting a MOVE sign next to it, seems downright rude.

Speaking of a lot of effort, I spent hours writing PBW a long apology in thread message which I really wanted him to read. The thread was the Lancastor Poll one from septemeber. Now that entire thread seems to have been censored as well, and I feel pretty bitter because I put such a huge amount of work into that message. As I left the thread last night, PBW had not read it. He said in public that he hadn't I wish that whoever took that thread away for whatever reason could at least send me a copy of my long note so I can get it to PBW. With one stroke of a key this deletion lost me hours upon hours worth of careful explanation! And no, I didn't save a copy offline, I wrote it in the editor. Does it every occur to the deleter what this sort of random censorship and destruction does to people??? I would really like to hear the explanation for why that one is gone, too!

This silent and deadly censorship makes me wonder, too, what else I write that will just quietly and behind the scenes be gotten rid of with no warnings, no explanations about forum rules being broken (in the case of my long apology and my picture thread NO FORUM RULES were broken--at least not by me!), absolutely nothing.

Is this the way that the people who run this place drive off peopel they don't like? By deleteing threads and messages they have literally labored HOURS over? I am now afraid to spend any effort at all on any thread in this forum.

Rosco, my friend, that includes your thread. I don't want to see the wonderful Top-opolis deleted simply because _I_ posted a long message in there that someone or another disagreed with but couldn't find a forum rule technicality to stick me with and so they decide to vanish the thread!

This is really really disturbing! Not to the rest of you, of course, as the censorship is not occuring to you. But who knows (shrug) you may very well be next.

I am not posting anymore in this forum or elsewhere on Literotica until I get some clear answers to these issues (from someone actually in charge or responsible for the censorship that is, no offense meant Misstaken). I suspect there may be legitimate reasons for this varied censorship that caused me such personal loss, but I want to hear them. I want to know what is going on. I want to know if it's safe for me to post anything here or if my posts, even that wonderful careful apology I wrote to PBW, are always going to be the target of a mad censorship!

Don't feel bad, you aren't the only one who has lost hours of efforts here. Shit happens, threads get deleted, etc. ,etc. Once you put it out into cyberspace, you can't be guaranteed that it'll remain where you put it, or even remain at all. Sucks don't it?

Well, my problem is I can't find the whole thread. I believe you that it's still there, but when I posted I just couldn't see it anwwhere (I did the three times through last 100 thread search I always do--it's not going to be older than 100 threads). I'll look for it again.

I was wondering what happens to old threads. How long are they kept and how are they stored. I'm a networking student so these kinds of questions always grab my attention. How long has lit been here and is the first thread still stored. The cencored threads, are they still stored somewhere?

Alll threads are stored I believe. Of course the censored threads are not available to the public... but I'm sure they are still there nonetheless. I'm sure they use a database to store them.. what type I am not sure. YOu can look up the software... it's a software package. Anyone can get it. You can probably check out the home page.

Yeah, my buddy is a co-administrator for a small forum in the Canadian prairies. Basically the same setup but it has a very cool skin. It crashed a month ago and just started up again. That is my concern. Where's the backup?
