Is this the complaints thread? Because I really liked my old skin (the red one) and it's not available. Unfortunately, that's not the only problem. I was perusing the new options and clicked on "Literotica Classic," and now I can't change to ANY of them!

You need to log out and back in, then go to user cp then options to change to a new skin. try default.

They took out all the old ones that were left after a previous upgrade. I'm not amused either. There are no good skins in the current option. They're all drab

My browser shut down and then my computer froze!!!

To whom it may concern:

I know the bugs and all that are being worked out right now on Lit, but here's what's
happened to me this afternoon:

I am able to log onto www.literotica.com main page, w/ no problem.

I am able to get onto the main page of the Lit forum, w/ no problem (still in the 'skin'
of 'Skynet Liquid', which is a grey).

However, when logging onto my "user CP" and then trying to access my threads,
that's when my browser (Internet Explorer for Mac) page evaporated and then my
computer froze!!! WEIRD!!! This has happened twice.

Anyways, so far I am posting on this thread (blue and white background) w/ no problems,
and hopefully my post will go through.

I am wondering why my browser funked out on me like that today......before the upgrades
started, the browser window was fine when I was on Lit yesterday morning/afternoon.

To Manu, Laurel, and all the Techies working on getting us better and improved website.

Though I don't know any of the details of what the upgrade thingees do, I welcome and appreciate some of the new smileys such as this:caning: and would like to be able to vote on more, non annoying smilies in the future, for another upgrade. (pretty please?!)

I like the spell check, the new and improved fonts, sizes and other goofy things to better express ourselves on the forums..

Potential problems that really tick me off.

1. Your Advertisements covering the title of the story i am about to read in the stories and pics sections.
2. Not being able to upload the voice part of a story directly to the (your?)server. (though that maybe yahoo's fault. Is the file too big?)
3. Can you make the chatroom space bigger please? I can never log into that feature because it says its always full. Im sure more than five hundred people would love to share ideas at once.
4. I would like the avatar thing back.
5. There is a tab on the top right screen above the place where it says Welcome ( screen name here) " |-Your text or slogan can go here-|"

The multi-quote button does not work with the Imagize Liquid skin, thats all I've seen so far, most of the other glitches now seem to be sorted out.

Is there a trick to the

/ Insert link button now?

I click it, insert the address of the link, but it doesn't give me the option to insert the link's text like it used to. I see that area is highlighted when the link is inserted, and I can put that in manually, but it's a pain when it's a long link and I accidentally click on the reply field out of habit.

The new way is do-able; the old way was a lot better, IMO.

I'm using the 'Imagize - Liquid' skin, BTW.

The old insert link function would REMOVE anything you had highlighted, and insert the text you specified. The new one works more like other link buttons on various blogs, etc., where you highlight the text or image, then click the button to insert JUST the destination.

I didn't consider highlighting the text and then clicking the button. Old habits die hard.

I find that the following are still not working for me:

1. I cannot seem to find my old skin- It was all blue with white lettering. I honest to god cannot remember what it was called.

2. When you post an image link it highlights up, and if you want to post another link, you can't click towards the end of the link, you have to arrow right.

3. Direct Links only half work. It'll display the link for you, but not the word you want to cover your link.

4. Literotica signs me out every 20 minutes if I don't respond or if it thinks I'm finished on the board.

Reiha, I just posted about this about 6 posts up, and the trick is either to type what you want to display immediately (before clicking anywhere) while the text in the middle of the link is highlighted, or to, as Lukky said, type the text you want to display first, highlight it, then click the Insert link icon and paste in the URL of the link.

So, I might type "Click Me" then highlight it, click on the

icon, paste http://www.google.com into the box, hit OK, and get:
Click Me

4. Literotica signs me out every 20 minutes if I don't respond or if it thinks I'm finished on the board.

When you sign in, do you check the box to save cookies? Have you tried logging out, clearing your cookies, closing your browser, then restarting it and logging in, making sure you check the box? You might try doing this whole procedure, but checking the box before you enter your username and password, too.

What skin are you using now? I'm using Imagize Liquid, and it works for me, so you might try checking the box and logging in with that skin, if you're using a different one. I've heard some say some of the skins may be causing some login/cookie problems.

FYI

If anyone out there's having problems getting the insert link/email/image to work, make sure your browser isn't blocking pop-ups. I had mine set to block all pop-ups and was having to manually insert links. Totally sucks. Never had this problem before but this is a new vB after all.

I tweaked my browser to allow pop-ups from Literotica and these functions now work as they should.

Just another area to troubleshoot on your system before sending Manu off chasing his tail. Or whatever.

Problems with user titles

My user title includes the use of the & symbol

If I go into my profile and do any form of edit it corrupts the title to

.......&:amp:..................

Everytime I go in it adds another one so a second edit creates

......&:amp::amp:......................

I can correct this, by going in and simply retyping the original user title but I thought it was worth pointing out in case it is a sign of a bigger problem.


Oh and Lady Reiha, ever since I joined Lit I had the log out every 20 minutes problem and only with these upgrades did I discover that the "remember me" box was the key. Because I initially used my daughter's computer I didn't want it to "remember me" lol.
