what good is reincarnation?

if you don't remember your past lives what's the point of reincarnation. i was having a discussion the other night with someone that truly believes that she has had many past lives. she doesn't really remember any of them. she just "feels" that she has been alive before.

i'm open to it. i think it would be cool to know that i could come back and progress mentally and spiritually until i got things right. but if you come back without memory it seems that you would be destined to make the same mistakes over and over. anybody here believe in reincarnation and if so what's the answer to my question?

I believe that you come back over and over again,until you get whatever you have done wrong,right.

If you did remember what it is that you did wrong,how can you make the right choices this time?

emerald_eyed, i'd truly love to believe that there are other planes that we go to when we die here. it's not that i don't believe, i just don't believe as strongly as i did in my youth.

ok here we go... I'v read alot about that... so after we have learned our lessons or went throught our Karma, we can move to others planets or planes where you will pass again all those stages to become a better person. I've read that the Earth is one of the first planet to evolve, like very low in the chain.

Ok i used to think we were brought back and go through the things we made fun of like if you hated overwight people or nerds etc that the next life you come back as one of them to learn what it is like but the way this planet is overpopulating i dunno about that now

It happens in nature, who says it can't happen to your spirit? A friend's wife does hypnotherapy for phobias. She told me a great deal of unreasoned fears people have is the result of a trauma in a past life. She described a good friend who had a horrible fear of basements, or enclosed areas. After a hypno session, the friend revealed in a past life, they had been in a dungeon. They described in detail the structure, and the area around it, and what led to the imprisonment. Most of what they described was in French, which consciously, they didn't speak! (their geneology traced back to France) The therapist thinks she found a picture of a former prison in France in the 1700's that fits the description.
That is one reason why soul recycling is possible.
(Unless you encounter the hardcore Taliban type religious mentality which will assert their "right" to be the "correct" position on the subject.)
