I submitted the series for my my published story it got sent back. It said to "put the title in title case" and I'm confused on what it means. Does anyone know or can point me to a place where I can find out? I already looked in faq. (Also I placed the series title like this "SLAVEBLOODS: THE SERIES")

Sorry if wrong thread, I was unsure where to put this

Yeah, an All Caps title is probably a No No.

The good news is it's an easy fix, and normally once handled your story will be put back on the fast track for publication.

I think it means only capitalize the first letter of each word.

Almost. Capitalize the first letter of each word except articles, prepositions and conjunctions, with exceptions when the "minor" word leads. In the example cited above, it would be:

Slavebloods: The Series

Other examples:

Gone with the Wind
Of Mice and Men
Tiptoe Through the Tulips
(some will debate capitalizing "through" because it is a preposition)
War and Peace
The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds

The rejection was because it was ALL CAPS, which, I will grant, looks awkward, is visually irritating and difficult to read. Online, it's also considered to be SHOUTING.

Oh. Personally I like the way all caps looks, but I get that it's a problem. So do I capitalize the "The" or no? Sorry, I get confused with some things (never finished high school nor gotten a GED)

You do, because it's the first word of the subtitle after the colon.

Absolutely get what your saying.

That said, I've always capitalized the first letter of each word in my titles and never had a problem or complaint about it.

I don't get pedantic about it, but there are style rules for it. Title case was drilled into me by a PhD English teacher in high school, and later in life confirmed when I got into typesetting and eventually proofreading. Somewhere around here I have a Manual of Style, a/k/a "Chicago Style Manual" that has all the mind-numbing exceptions. To everything!

I had never heard of title case before I started posting here, but luckily thereā€™s also websites that do it for youā€¦ search for ā€œcapitalize my titleā€ and youā€™re on your way.

The cover you create can have all caps. I don't know if the covers every show up anywhere. But can have them.

I added a cover yesterday to one series and created another one. But I don't know where you see them online.

Well, I do where to see them online, just not her at LIT.

I don't know if the cover is live yet on Mr. Lucky or where to find the page. I only created the series yesterday on Just a Friendly Series. Friendly probably isn't even a series yet.
