Created series then added second story for it, story published, series still 'pending moderation'

Hi,

I've written a sequel to an existing story, The Missing Fluffer, and created a series for them last week (9/25/24). The series is still in "Pending Moderation" state.

The new story, Body Double Tryouts, was submitted a few days after creating the series and was published this morning. It is not in a series and in my Works page it appears as stand-alone, which I'm worried will confuse readers.

The Series section of the author's Control Panel shows both stories are part of the pending series.

I read the Series FAQ and thought I'd done things in the correct order. Have I missed something?

When the third story in my series was automatically put in its proper series, it didn't show up as in the series on my profile until a day later.

On another thread about series waiting on moderation (September 18) one reply postulated that its an automated system that prefers stories labeled with [Series] Ch. X over unique titles.

I have two stories (A Long Time Coming and Seizing the Day) in a series that has been in moderation purgatory since August. The second story got a comment that was quite snippy about having a "series" that didn't have any indication it was until they clicked on it.

There's an automated system that automatically puts same-starting-title-text stories into a series. Then there's the manual way, which doesn't care about titles at all, but (at least for me) was super buggy.

Every series I've created has been approved within a day or so, but I probably just got lucky. That's another queue Laurel has to go through in addition to the story queue. She has to make sure the text and ( if any ) cover image don't violate guidelines before letting it go live. They most likely get checked in bulk when she has time, so give it a couple of days.

If it's still sitting in pending hell, try editing it and saving it with no actual changes. Maybe that queue suffers from the same memory hole bug that's present in the story queue where not everything appears on her dashboard.
