It usually means Original Poster or Original Post--the first post(er) in a thread.
Though, there's no telling what these lunatics came up with.
On the first forum I was ever seriously a part of, we called them spammers.
We had factions and everything. Made a big game out of it. Was awesome.

I've been trying to find the thread where this OP was brought up. At the time it seemed like it was almost a television show or something. I'll go with original poster then.
