Well, the kid's father was probably the most famous of the family. He was a lawyer and he just happened to be personal friends with O.J. Simpson. So, kind of by default, he was his first lawyer after Simpson was accused of killing his ex wife and her boyfriend. I'm guessing he was instrumental in forming the "dream team" defense group that represented Simpson in the trial that was watched by the whole nation.

I think he and his wife were divorced by then, though. The father died in 2003 or '04. Kris, the ex wife, married Bruce Jenner, the famous Olympic Gold medal swimmer and somewhere along the line, she or he got someone to develop a reality show featuring the whole family, called "Keeping Up With the Kardashians". That's where we met all of the four kids, one of which is Kim.

To my knowledge, the kids have no real claim to fame at all, except for that show, and their famous step dad. The family was fairly wealthy because the father had done well before he died, so I'd guess the show is just about some spoiled rich kids living their lives while followed by a camera.

I've never seen the show...never had any interest in it. Someone else can clarify for me, if I've missed something.

Not watched the kardashian show, and I think Kanye is complete pillock.

Didn't vote on the basis that I like a nice round ass and don't think any woman's butt should be in any category of scorn.

I'm not a fan of celebrity for it's own sake, but I'm forced to admit that the Kardashians are branding and marketing geniuses.

They started with quite a bit of money and turned it into a very very large amount of money by creating the illusion their lifestyle is unique and worthy of envy.

It hasn't occurred to most people that they are merely extremely wealthy and the people with real money who could buy them a thousand times over wouldn't be caught dead any where near them.

Kim got famous, from what I hear, off a porn video she made. I'm not much into visual porn (I prefer written), but I hear it was badly done. *shrugs*

That said, one of my proudest mommy moments was when my 12 year old pointed to a picture of Kim Kardashian and said 'who's that?'

She has earned more money before the age of 30 herself than you ever will in your whole life. I doubt that this is possible by doing nothing.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, doesn't she have a line of jewelery or something? Or is it perfume? Of course, she pretends like she designed or at least selected the items, but we all knew differently.

Yes, she had money to begin with, from her father. Then, she had a bit of fame from her father, and from the reality how the family is on. So, with all of that going for her, it doesn't take much to start making money. If you ask me, anybody with a reality show could have a jewelery manufacturer give them a call, because it benefits everybody involved. I' surprised the women of Jersey Shore didn't have a line of clothing or jewelery or make up. It's just the thing to do.

She's also making news by marrying Kanye and by naming their baby North. Seriously, nothing she's famous for or making money from is because she has some talent. She reminds me a little of Paris Hilton, with a bigger butt.

Shit, at least Kanye is a rapper. Maybe Kim can karaoke.

She obviously has a talent for making money from that fame, while a LOT of people with rich and or famous parents make a total mess moneywise and or otherwise.
