I guess I don't know. It could be why I am having such a difficult time finding it.

:)

1. A word that is used far too often to describe completely mundane drives.. and has lost all other meaning.
2. A myth.

love

Love is waking up with the same woman 3 times in a row.

:D

love is us.

everything anyone does is eather for love or fear.

We 'are' love.

it's a feeling a state of mind a conciousness, all things that are part of us lol

so I say again we are love.

Love is the irresistable desire to be irresistably desired.

That's damned beautiful. :)

Love, to me, is having someone see the worst you are and still finding something in you to hold close to. It's knowing that no matter where you are and what you're doing, that person will be on your side. It's knowing that there's nothing they won't do for you, or you for them. It's knowing that in someone else is the other part of your soul and realizing that a million miles couldn't really separate you from them.

You know - that's how I feel too:)

When someone else's happiness means more to you than your own - that is love. If you can't put someone else before yourself - then you'll never know real love. No, I'm not implying that you should 'lose' yourself or any of that. But, when someone else's happiness means so much to you ... ahhh, it just is. ;)

Exactly! It's knowing that when it comes to happiness, you have their back and they have yours. It's leaving a piece of your soul with them, and taking a piece of theirs for your own. ;)

It is also a gift that should be freely given without need of strings or expectations of receiving anything in return.

Love is a genuine feeling of trust, caring, responsibility,etc...

It's also a highly over used and tired topic.

Right on Georgia Girl. Love is giving but you really don't know you are giving. You share because everything you have belongs to them so you really don't consider it sharing. You never think of "me", it's always "you".

Damn, now when can I find it?;)

I believe there are many stages of love.

love is unconditional and blind. You can find out what true love is, when you lose it.

I love my children ~ my family ~ my pets. Although I love them, I also love them in different degress.

If you happen to come across some, how about picking some up for me to - I'm just across the border.

Thanks a bunch

I agree completely with #1

but not #2.

It's real. I have lived with it every day of my life for the past 28 years. Real love is sacrifice.

I tried the local grocery. No luck. Guess we'll just have to settle for lust:D

Real love is sacrifice.

I'm feeling intensely cynical... sacrifice to what end? When you wake up and realized you've sacrificed everything you have, everything you are to a person or relationship... is that when you finally achieve the kind of unconditional love that everyone talks about? And if so, how is it unconditional if it requires the sacrifice of yourself to achieve?

My Definition

My definition for love and what I know about love is the following: duration, emotion and intensity. Love is what makes me smile on a cloudy day or on a bad day that can't get much better!

well, pcg, I confess I was thinking of a particular sacrificial love, but it applies to the less divine kind as well.

It takes quite a bit of sacrifice to do things for someone else, to think of someone else instead of myself. To do all I can to make someone else happy. I'm not talking about just my husband. I need that kind of love for my kids as well.

I guess it helps when the sacrifice is reciprocal. It a heck of a lot easier to go when hubby is doing the same thing for me.

Love is one's response to and acknowledgement of the recognition in another person of those qualities one values most.

As such it is perhaps the single most revealing declaration one ever makes regarding one's character and values.
