Love the movie

>lots of action
>lots of twists in the plot
>intelligent plot (sometimes)or
>plot so unintelligent it is just as entertaining
>Tom Arnold in a backup role
>Nicholson, DeNiro, etc.

Hate the movie

>shoving in a love angle where it has no business being and it ruins the movie more or makes no sense (Pearl Harbor, Vertical Limit)
>inappropriate "light" moments
>Jennifer Lopez
>Disney (Ruined a good story in Remember the Titans by Disnifying it)
>People who are not professional actors, yet somehow became the star of the movie
>Tom Arnold in a starring role
>Julia Roberts (yeah, I'd fuck her but is she really all that attractive?)
>Romantic comedy

Love:

-mindless violence (You never would have guessed that about me, wouldja?)
-lots of action (I've got all the diehards and lethal weapons)
-comedy of most sorts, unless it includes, er, Sparkyisms. Those are not funny. Except for the one in Ready to Rumble where they overturned the septic truck and a big old 18 wheeler came around the corner a while later and overturned as well, throwing toilet paper everywhere. It was obvious it was hysterical. I did feel kinda funny, being the only one in the room laughing. Like now.
-adventure is cool
-world war 2 navy movies where the premise is comedic. Mr. Roberts, Ensign Pulver, Operation Petticoat, and particularly the Secret War of Harry Frigg.
-all the other world war 2 movies
-war movies
-science fiction movies
-Romantic comedies, like the African Queen

Hate:

-Horror films with a virulent passion. It's so stupid! Obligatory totally purposeless fuck scene where the killer/monster/demon from hell kills the guy so the girl can run around mostly naked til she screams and gets killed too. And on and on.
-Drama. They always give me a migraine, but that's my only beef.
-Any movie that is not a total comedy where an animal has a lead role. They always die and I'm upset for a week. It is just not cool.
-Free Willy, the ones with the whales and the pornographic ones
-pornography
-pretty much anything with Brad Pitt whom I just cannot stand. that said, we'll be watching the Mexican soon.

I really, really love if I'm able to get lost in a movie. To be so wrapped up in a story and its characters that for an hour or two I forget my own crap and just get sucked into the world of the movie.

I hate it if I don't.

Word about Brad Pitt

This was from a real police report from one of his first movies.....he and some other actors decided to goof off and flash passersby...a woman called and reported them to the police, describing a man who fit Pitt's description, but adding "he has a really small penis" as a distinguishing mark

You and me both, Siren. I haven't been to a current movie since I took my niece to see "Toy Story 2" last summer. Too many people, too many cel phones & pagers, too many kids at inappropriate movies, too expensive, my list goes on & on. Tonight we are going out for Chinese, coming home & watching "Farscape" on the SciFi channel. I have to work tomorrow & Sunday is an all day Turner Classic Movies marathon. Have a seat, pass the popcorn, coke classic & snowdrops for my sweetie & we won't leave the house.
