I am looking around at all this crap we have collected. God only knows what happens when we finally find a house. It will take a moving team of professionals to sort all this out. Or should I leave it and start again?
Anyways. We have collections. Of stuff. Crap mostly. Some good, some dumb. But it got me wondering.
What do you collect? Is it books? Baseball cards? used condoms? dead bodies? Really.
Wondering if I might be the only true pack rat here. Is your house perfect and spotless with no added junk? or is it time to post a HazMat warning on the door?

You have a PM. I didn't want the rest of the board to know where I store my dead bodies. ;)

Books... lots and lots of books!

Also: magazines, videos, CDs. If you can read it, watch it, or listen to it, it's somewhere in my house!

I also have coin and stamp collections around here somewhere.

Some baseball/football cards...

I am a serious pack rat!

I think I have answered this somewhere before but I collect dust. :D

I have a very nice antique dust collection. I also collect old canning jars and lids.

I seem to be collecting former assistant managers lately.

I don't really collect anything (Army brat, we moved every 21 months) but my husband collects 1:18 cars, full size cars, car magazines, Speed Racer stuff, cds, movies, and muscle car memorabilia.

When we move, it's his problem. If he doesn't pack it, it isn't coming with us.

Kitten, I sure wish I lived closer. You could never get rid of me. A manager who cares and works? Damn. A rarity these days.

Damn! Now if that aint the truth!!!!!!!!!

Comic books.
I have hundreds of dollars worth of comic books that I've collected since I was sixteen. I want to stop I just... can't.

Would you believe barbies?
My childhood toys became a bit of an obession, but if I ever in dire straights I could probably get a bit of money for some of them.

Frogs, Native American stuff,Graphics, and books.

Oh and avatars. :D

<----------------Like the new one? ;)

Books, books, and more books. Books for enjoyment, books for reading to my class, and books as resources for teaching.

I have a small collection of watermelon utensils for my kitchen.

My second largest collection is my Michael Waltrip collection. I have more T-shirts and hats, but some diecast and 2 stand-ups.

Pre-1900 science textbooks
Pre-1900 etiquette books (oddly enough)
cut, unmounted gemstones

does my rather extensive collection of BDSM toys, a collection to which i am always adding, count?

Yes, the collection of toys counts.

Tres on the etiquette books (could always use for of that). How many do you have?

More than 25 (last count, when i last moved, was 25 - i've gotten some since then). Want to know anything about fish forks? (No, not the kind the Little Mermaid used to comb her hair...) When to wear gloves? (No, not just during kinky sex, my dears.) Proper attire for afternoon tea? (Depends on whether one will be the well-dressed guest or the naked server, in my life. ~s~)

Etiquette. It's not just for books anymore.

odd....I collect old etiquette books( and coming of age) also.......my favorite is "What a young man ought to know" from the Purity and Truth Self and Sex series.

"The noblest and grandest thing in the world is a young man in all the vigor and buoyancy of manhood and with all the promise of a long life and great usefulness before him......."

"Where emmisions occur at too frequent intervals it is benificial to stand over the bowl of cold water dashing it freely over the sexual organs each morning "

I love this stuff..........except someone tore out pages 111 thru 136..must have been really naughty.

I collect books, sports memorabillia (primairly hockey), salt & pepper shakers, teacups & saucers, Fenton art glass and Boyd's Bears

aren't you glad you asked??? :D

Old county maps. 1620 is the earliest I've found so far.
And some framed sets of cigarette/tea cards I collected when I was young.
They also come in handy for covering the patches of dodgy plastering on the walls.:)

Let's see I collect Hummels and teapots for myself, beanie babies for my daughter and pokemon cards and anything Star Wars for my boys. My honey collects comic books.

We listed the comics (est $14,000) and beanie babies (est $3,000) as assets for buying our house and have them insured.

Comic Books and 1:6 scale action figures (mostly 21st Century, but I have some 70's era G.I. Joe stuff, and a few of the new Habro Joes. Dragon Models 1:6, though, are my favorite.

And my books.

One of the main things that keeps me living where I am is that I really can't mentally deal with the stress of organizing my stuff and packing it up.
