I'm straight myself, but having been brought up in Seattle, I try to keep a pretty open mind about race, sexuality, religion, and other lifestyle choices. Unfortunately, I've been transplanted to the South, which seems to breed intolerence (no offense to any southerners, it's just that compared to the NW, this area is a WHOLE LOT more socially conservative). Anyway, it is my firm belief that people wholove each other should be together, whether hetrosexual or not. I do have a problem with both hetro and homos who jump into relationships purely for the sex. I think that this is pretty much an abuse of a very cool thing. I'm not advocating waiting until marriage here either, I'm just saying that a lot of people aren't making love, they're just fucking (pardon my French). If a hetrosexual couple falls in love, after a while sex is just a natural extention of their love, I'm sure most of you will concede. I don't see why it should have to be any different for homosexual couples, as long as the intentions are good (Not a prob for you sexy-girl, from your posts, it's pretty clear how you feel! ). I'll admit that this whole "sex for love" thing may be kinda antiquated, but I think that it still holds true. Whatever you want to do to bring your love a step further, that's cool, whatever your orientation.

But here is another thing that bugs me - and this isn't meant to be anti gay, but no doubt some ppl will take it that way.

I have read and heard a lot of interviews with celebrities and not so celebrities who say "Oh yes, I knew when I was four years old I was gay"

bullshit. First off, very few people can remember when they were fours years old - yes, there are little snippets of memories, but that is it. Second, when I was fours years old, I didn't know I was straight. I had no idea what sex was. I didn't know I was straight when i was 10 or 11 or 12 either - (well maybe 12) - i was more intersted in hockey and dinkies and cops and robbers than girls.

I don't think which sex you "played doctor" with at ages 4 and 5 has anything at all to do with your sexual orientation when you get older. It has more to do with which kids your age happen to live in your neighborhood. As a kid, I only had a girlfriend my age in the neighborhood and that's who I played doctor with. My younger brother and sister were close enough in age with another little boy up the street so that they played doctor with him (I "caught" them one day.) As far as I know, all of us kids ended up being straight.

No, I don't think at age 4 or 5 you have any clue of what your orientation is. It is, however, natural then to claim that the other sex has cooties and you only like your own.

well, there are exceptions to every rule. If you are asking me - is it possible for a 4 or 5 year old to become sexually aroused? well of course it is. you hear about it all the time - it is the defense that these sick child molestor's lawyers use - well, your honour, the child was aroused so they obviously consented.
