I am trying to copy songs from a CD (Music) to another. I have CD creator, but it is not working. It screws up on the second song every time.

Any suggestions?

I use CD Creator also, and I don't have any problems. Maybe remove it and re-install after re-booting. There might be some little file that is corrupt!

perhaps set it to 1x recording speed?

There is so much to troubleshoot with this sort of stuff its rediculous

I try to copy off of multiple CD's, and it records the first track, then when I try to put the second CD in to record the second track, it cannot recognize it. It keeps telling me to put in the second CD, but it does not recognize it as the right one.

I even just tried to record two songs, thinking that I screwed up the order.

Still no go.

probably a common problem. Try checking out the FAQ in the help menu or get to the web site (should be listing in the help menu) and look for the FAQ there.

You may also need to 'copy' all the songs to the hard drive first and then burn it from there (is if you were making more than one copy). I would think there is an option for this.

Have you tried to make AIFF files from the CDs before you burn them? Or are you trying to do Audio CD to CD-R recording.

I would suggest making high quality AIFFs (Audio files) and burn THEM to the CD-R.

I can't help you with specifics as I'm a Mac Man myself. But there's a guy hanging around here, Wierd Harold is his name. He knows a lot about PCs and can explain things very well.

I don't know what an AIFF File is, but I will check my program.

Audio Interchange File Format. It's a high quality sound file format which is the standard for making Audio CDs from.

They have the .aif suffix. CDCreator 5 is able to make them (according to the Roxio site) Check the documentation, how to do it should be there.

I have Roxio (Adaptec) CD Creator, but I had a lot of problems with it. It is well known for its buggy operation. Nero is supposed to be a lot better but I haven't tried it yet. I have tried CloneCD and that works well for copying except that my 2X drive I had would generate errors so I got a new faster drive. The trial period on CloneCD expired so I haven't tried it with the new drive, but with the included software the new drive makes copies just fine.

The software with my new inexpensive CD burner is labeled the same as the drive relabeler; NTI. This works fairly well so far - actually better than Roxio. I have no idea who actually makes it as NTI is pretty much just a low cost relabeler of other people's components; my last CD burner (a 2X) was also an NTI and I took the shell of it and inside was a Phillips drive.

Heretic, how much did you get that CDRW for in the end?

What I normally do when recording from multiple cd's, I use Audiocatalyst and rip the tracks off the cds first and store it all in one directory, then I just write them all in one sitting. Makes things a little easier to manage.
Although Nero 5 does the same thing, when you select the tracks that you want to write onto cd, it will take the file off the cd and store it on the hd, so once you've selected the tracks off each cd it'll have all the files and it will write them all in one sitting.

It was $30 with the rebate - it is a 40x12x48x. There was one there of the same "make", that was a 40x instead of a 48X that was free with rebate, but I didn't see the ad until I had been in line for an hour, and since I didn't see it on the shelf I figured they were all gone. After I had stood in line (for the checkout) for 2 hours and was almost at the checkout, the guy in front of me who had his wife hold his place, said he say someone further back in the line who had one of the free ones. Oh well.

try nero or cakewalk i have use both and had great resuilts with them i still use nero today

Are you trying a direct CD to CD copy? If I am reading this correct

Yeah, I choose the songs from multiple CD's, then when I try to record from the CD to the CD burner, it will copy the first song, and when I try to switch to the second song (on a second CD) it tells me it is the wrong CD.

Thatsallways abad idea cause the songs quality will suck and you will get buffer underrun errors...
there ay be a setting you forgot to vheck that allows you to take out cd. EZCD may think you want to rio more than once songs off that cd and you have to rio them all maybey. I dont think you can rip one song then another cd and then go back to first

Try dumping songs to hard drive first. that way you can order them anyway you want and no buffer underruns.

Questions:

When I create a CD from an album downloaded from WinMx, the CD is one long track instead of individual tracks for each song.

How do you copy music from a CD to your HD?

When I try to play burned CD's in my car, they don't work. The car/cd player is 4 years old. What speed should I record the cd's so they will work in the car?

Personally I use Best Buy, or occassionally CDNow.com......I need to upgrade my c drive....ugh.
