What are we all writing right now?

It was just supposed to be a little writing exercise. Something to expand on the silly bedroom vignettes I'd submitted and work on more advanced concepts like "giving the characters names" and "describing how they look". That was in April.

Submitted today.

Go me.

Working on a selkie shifter story for an anthology I've been invited to participate in. (Assuming they don't read it and immediately kick me out, lol.)

I've been re-editing my first story that I published back in June. I was excited to get it out at the time and didn't edit it enough. So it had some techical errors and some bad word choices. I was going to just let it sit for posterity, but I just couldn't let it go, especially with a stupid misspelling mistake in the first sentence.

I submitted it yesterday, It'll probably take a month to upload.

Or, it might be up tomorrow... It's kinda random.🫠

Actually writing a script for a VA. Nothing too deep or complicated, which is kinda what I need at the moment.

I sent her a rough draft and am waiting for her approval and comments before continuing.

In the ongoing efforts to relieve the tedium of the endless AI-related discussions, let's talk about our ongoing projects. What have you got in your Drafts folder?

I'll go first:
- A gritty sci-fi western about a bandit and a bounty hunter on a mining planet (working title: Clever Fox and Tombstone Eyes)
- E/V: two mature women talk on the phone as they ogle the young gardener (A Shared Experience)
- A Regency story in the style of Georgette Heyer and Jane Austen about a party that isn't quite as innocent as it seems (Mrs Danbury's Party)
- I/T: two girls disagree about whether the brother of one of them has the largest cock they've seen (My Sister Loses A Bet)
- Also I/T: another instalment in my "Too Cold Not to Fuck" series (Too Late Not to Fuck)
- Mind control: an office worker finds an experimental thought control device (The Office Fuck-Up)
- A novel-length story about my sword & sorcery characters Avilia and Sligh
- A dark fantasy story about a demon hunter and his apprentice, set in Germany during the Thirty Years' War
- And a few files that are little more than story titles: Happily Orgy After, News Girl Nance, The Night Became Her Lover
@StillStunned,
Just nailed down my Halloween 2025 submission. Submitted.
Next job... er...ah... I'll have my people call your people...! 🤣
Deepest respects as always,
D.

I am working on two stories right now. The first is an ENM story about a guy who ends up having to perform a monologue naked and aroused in his acting class. The second is an ENF story about a woman who has a major wardrobe malfunction during a relay race, but is too competitive to throw in the towel (though she probably wished she had a towel).

A fantasy story about pirates in a corner of the world where death is impossible, trying to figure out how to preserve as much of the symbolism of a scene as I can while I cut out all the borderline snuff elements that snuck in.

My story currently under construction will probably end up in a different category, but I'm tempted to aim for the Non-Incest Taboo side of Taboo & Incest  Anyone have any thoughts or experiences about that? or is it a bad idea?

...
“It’s a pretty common experience, Scout. People spend more waking hours with their coworkers in a week than with anyone else in their life. Statistically, the people in your close workplace are likely to have similar interests and values and expertise. You’re sharing goals and challenges, you’re venting frustrations and celebrating successes with each other... It’s natural for that kind of situation to turn into a strong emotional connection.”

I stare open-mouthed at my quiet, nerdy boyfriend for a moment. “What the fuck, Jeremy?”

He blushes and shrugs. “What? I read Ask A Manager. If you want to think of Victoria as your Work Wife, I’m cool with it. If it bothers you, think about her more like a… I don’t know, Work Sister. Work Mom.”

My mind goes to highly inappropriate places before I can stop it. “I don’t think that’s helping,” I mutter.

Working on a Black Friday story for Another Site, because nothing says multimillion dollar bestseller like Black Friday sweet romantic short stories.

I expect a readership of two.

Also starting a Christmas story for Literotica, a bit of short dirty fiction that should be fun.

18k words into what's turning into a bit of a monster.

I was still grinning like an idiot two hours later when her channel notification pinged that she’d posted something new. And my heart melted when I saw the title - “Liebestraum No. 3 - for A”, and then I could do nothing but laugh at all the comments trying to work out who A was.

I listened to it on repeat for an hour. I discovered what the name of the piece meant. I melted to goo all over again, and fell asleep smiling, with her smile scribbled in bright glitter paint all over my heart.

I was reading a thread a few days ago talking about the first chapter of a story. It made me realize that the first chapter of the novel-length story Im working on is not very captivating. I went back and did a major re-write and culled a 3000 word sex scene that was there to illustrate a character’s masturbation fantasy , but had nothing to do with the story. I cut it.
Now I’m turning it into a stand alone stroke story. If I’d realized it a couple of weeks ago it would have made an awesome Halloween story.

I haven't worked on a story in awhile.

I have two in perpetual stasis. One of which I think can actually take its drivers license test. Or be considered legal age.

The other I had written for a muse a couple of years ago but lost the inspiration when she broke it off. She actually took the place off the ordinal FMC in the other story when I tried to dust it off.

Now I have a third idea and need to start fleshing out details.

I don't get how some of you have entire anthologies uploaded.

Good evening dear colleagues... I have, as a result of an inspirational concept that came to me at the suggestion/question of another colleague here, turned a complete 180 degrees with my latest work. I am writing, as a lifelong, hetero alpha male, the third part of a trilogy about a lesbian couple's relationship/romance. The first two parts have been published and have been extremely well received. I will admit that I am somewhat mystified as to how I achieved that. Maybe I have found a true 'niche' for myself that is completely at odds with who I am.
Respectfully,
D.

Don’t pigeonhole yourself based on the success of one story. The fact of the matter is that a good story is a good story. People overcoming personal challenges and falling in love always resonates.
Lesbian is a popular category and gets a lot of traffic. Your numbers will look a lot better there than in something like group sex or BDSM. I experienced the same phenomenon earlier this year. My valentine day lesbian story took off. My mature story about a middle aged couple came out a few weeks later and still hasn’t caught up to it, even though I think Motivation is a much better story and has a lot more sex and tags.
