What are we all writing right now?

Okay but there's a difference between, on the one hand, deliberately sitting down to write porn, and, on the other hand, reading a serious, non-sexual comment and immediately going into the gutter.
Agreed, but this is Lit, so I’m thinking the gutter ( to whatever degree) is kinda the point.

Stating for a friend.

I'm sitting on two and a half chapters for "Inns & Invocations" and can't get one group sex scene written to tie them all together. So that's in Limbo.

Loqui and I have started our bashing-heads for "Red Tsonia & The Arctic Queen". About 5k words in, including a bit of sex and a lot of bloodshed. Just how things have to be when swords and sandals are involved.

Perhaps some furry sandals this time, for the climate.

I'm focusing on finishing my Tales of Leinyere novel that I started well over a year ago. It's not going splendidly.
What's the issue? I'm in the middle of two longer works both of which suffer from having been insufficiently outlined before I started. In other words, I don't know what happens next.

I also wrote a Leinyere short story not realizing there wouldn't be a 2024 event. I may just go ahead and publish it.

Started something called “Sisterly Secrets” about a relationship between platonic friends redefined when the women in their lives reveal their incest and want a group relationship. Putting other projects on hold for this. It’s going fun so far.

Lisa- “My sister and I have a relationship that is… more than platonic.”

Boyfriend- “What does that mean?”

Stephanie- “Lisa’s the worrywart. I’m the casual nymph. I came on to her, then kissed her without qualm.”

What have you got in your Drafts folder?
-The second half of my Aces series, which has sat idle for over a year, and I still can't get traction on wrapping it up, even though I have 7 chapters written. They just don't gel.
-A few chapters to start out the Aces2 series, not very well put together yet.
-A chapter for the Aces3 series, just a sketch. (starting to see a pattern?)

-High school senior who applies his chess skills to getting revenge on a bully, while building a harem.
-College student photographer hired by a girl to commemorate notable events of each year of her life.
-Girl who steals alien tech from her company that can stop time for her and anyone touching her, so everyone else is frozen and they can do what they want. (cliche, I know, but the devil is in the detals)
-Far future post-post apoc where society is starting to rebuild. A ship is sent to the south Pacific to re-connect with the natives that have been isolated for generations
-A nineteen year old boy, who has literally never seen a girl and doesn't know what sex is, escapes from a cult.

That's a lot of scattered stuff. It's a symptom of the fact that work has been a total grind lately, and I don't have the time or energy to spend right-braining anything. So I end up pounding out something that just happened to cross my mind in the few hours I might have in a week, then it sits too long.

Another two chapters done. Bringing characters back from the grave, revisiting old haunts. The FMCs are making their way through story categories and tropes - tackling incels and gynarchs and mind controllers and dystopian AIs... after spending so much time within the constraints of one particular universe, it's just so great to be able to head out into the wild. Musing where they should go next....

#0 - just dumped a short story for an anthology on my publisher. They wanted a 10-15k short, I gave them 35k words ("Draft Deferment") and now it's coming out as a novella instead. I like it and it was hugely fun to write. It's set in my "I Married a Heptapod" universe.

"Elise Wong's just a normal New Beijing girl in her last year of high school, doing the sort of things every aspiring eighteen year old girl living on Earth’s Moon does. Studying. Dating. Young Pioneers. Applying for her probationary Party Membership. Graduation's coming, and so's that xenobiology scholarship to New Tsinghua University that comes with a draft deferment that'll keep her out of the People’s Liberation Army Navy (Space) and the war with the Spiders. Everything's lining up for Elise, until she's assigned to tutor New Beijing's first centaurii exchange student in human biology. Ixion Sagittarius and Elise get on well...far too well for the Chinese Hegemony's Morality Directorate, and when Security gets involved...well, while Elise is in deep trouble, she may have a way out...."

#1 on my priority list right now is finishing Jeong 11 and Jeong 12 and maybe even getting Jeong actually finished, which will mean half a dozen more chapters but would be a major plus if I do because that'll be the first Literotica series I will ever have completed if I get that far. But then my readers will start whining about completing the next series! I tell you, so demanding!!!! LOL.

#2 is a full length novel I am co-writing with a Sci-Fi author for a mainstream publisher.

#3 (which basically means when I need a bit of rest and relaxation for the other 2, is My Asian Sister 3 (for .

#4 is my Geek Day story, which is half done - "Timeo Artifices et Membra Virilia Denudens" (Beware of Geeks Baring Dicks)

#5 is a full length erotic Sci-Fi novel for my publisher - "Insertion Force" - also set in the Heptapod Universes and a follow-on to a short story in an anthology ("Penetration Testing" in Lust in Space 1)

#6 Somewhere a bit further down I also have 2 more stories to write for Literotica events - this years "Hammered" and the "Heroism - the Oggbashan Memorial Event 2024".

In between times, I am editing and rewriting a few stories to publish on Amazon as a short story collection. That's when I need R&R from my R&R from my R&R.

A sequel to my voyeur story, Yes, Ma'am.
It features a young couple who have sort of entered into a poly relationship with her stepmom. It will dive into whether it's right for mom or just, right now.

Another story set in the same fantasy universe as my Drowning at Dusk series.

Trying something a bit different in that it is intended to be completely standalone. One single installment, a bit longer than my usual entries. I'm curious to see how a bigger standalone entry does compared to a series split up across multiple entries.

It's about a half-elf undergoing a monster hunt to 'purify' himself in the eyes of his elven kin, and getting involved with a sexy mercenary and a witch along the way. Threesomes, magical sex, monster hunts, etc. It's also my first story other than a short stroker with a male POV. Trying to broaden my horizons by writing for a more well-developed man as the MC.

I'm nearly finished my lesbian ghost story, which is partially based on real events 100 years ago.

I've then got a couple of stories to edit for some friends. After that, not sure.
The lesbian ghost story is finished and with a couple of Beta readers to check for readability. There's three distinct elements happening - current day dialogue, a nearly 100 year old diary, and excerpts from newspapers from around the same time. I'm hoping it all makes sense.

Dashed off a quick 750 word I/T story about a gamer/cam girl and her dad.

I'm now looking at the calendar and scratching my head as to what's next. I'll wait and see what ideas pop up.

What's the issue? I'm in the middle of two longer works both of which suffer from having been insufficiently outlined before I started. In other words, I don't know what happens next.
Maybe a similar issue. I had an outline and an ending in mind but as the story progressed my characters went left instead of right and now my story feels like one of those scooby doo scenes where the gang's chasing the villain through a hundred doors until they end up running in circles.

I've started my entry for the Pink Orchid event. I'm resurrecting one of my favourite characters from a previous story but I'm struggling to get into her head. She's a formidable, young Victorian lady and I'm an old and grumpy, 21st century fecker.

Right as I write, I am going back and forth from a ten-part, antebellum prequel (Tales from the Swamp) about the family of the 1940's interracial couple that I haven't finished (A Swamp girl) and also, the Married to a Bully series which I haven't finished, because I stopped to rewrite the prequel, the Bully & the Brat.

I presume myself to get bored of those soon and so, I also have a lot of short taboo stories to finish up, one of which was sent back for reasons we are changing the subject lol.

Then I can not forget the 20 other Ideas that crossed my mind and haven't returned. They model pretty in my docs with one letter titles like "L"
What does that stand for? I haven't the slightest idea since the characters have no L's in their name and it's far from a love story. I wonder why my therapist never told me that I am not great at completing things? Oh, I remember, I quit that as well. 🤣

Yakkety Sax intensifies.

Meanwhile, the working title for my latest work is Chiaroscuro and Catgirls - and I've come to the conclusion that there is a lot wrong with me

Writing a story with three characters, in three parts that intertwine.

Experimenting with changing between 3rd person close, omniscient, and 1st person for each part, reflecting the experiences of the current MC.

It's a lot harder than expected and maybe I'll just scrap it and focus on the story itself instead of getting all fancy 😅 Though it's fun to challenge myself..

I am writing a Mike Kavanagh NYPD Vice Homicide squad GM murder mystery, tentatively titled "60s Manhattan Murder Mystery," that bugged me in my sleep two nights ago. It was one of those nights where I kept waking up to get the furious development of a story--usually just a strange dream sequence--out of my mind but it kept reappearing each time I went back to sleep. In this case, I remembered most of it after waking in the morning and sketched it out. Mike Kavanagh is one of my recurring characters. He solves GM cases in New York. But he hasn't come up for use for quite a few years. Also, although my muse typically drops story ideas as I am waking up in the morning, this is one of the rare times that developing a story has bugged me through an entire night. Also rarely, I was already working on a Japanese period piece when this happened, so I'm currently going back and forth on two stories with a fair amount of research behind them.

I began a multi-part series about a year ago, and am just now starting to work through what looks to be the end of Part 2. The Muse just wasn't with me for a few months, but I'm seeing my way clearer.

I'll wait until I have it all ready, whenever that is, and roll them out in succession, as against causing long waits by publishing each part as I finish

I'm not writing anything at the moment. I can't get a chapter past the AI police after four tries and mentioning the editor from here who helped me with the final rewrite.

I have written Laurel, and I'm waiting for a response.

What are we all writing right now?

In the done column:

  1. The third and penultimate chapter of my A Good Girl Gone Bad series - inspired by the delectable @EStaccato - it’s called Gaped and it does what it says on the can - comes out tomorrow
  2. Five (5) 750 word stories. In SciFi / Fantasy, Non-erotic, Romance, BDSM and Humor & Satire - all out Feb, 1
In the actively doing column:

  1. A new story, which I only really started today, but which will probably publish first - it’s called The Undoing Of Emma and explains how she got demoted to being a lowly advisory demon sitting on the shoulder of some dumb human
  2. Chapter two of Bouncing Back
  3. Chapter four of A Good Girl Gone Bad - artfully called Many
  4. A sisterly incest story 😱
  5. A quasi-biographical story about a couple’s first faltering steps into BDSM
In the ideas column:

  1. The Garden of Eden - Miss Baker’s grad school adventures in NYC
  2. Guilding The Lily (not a spelling mistake)
  3. Avenging Angels - a Heaven & Hole spin-off featuring Elena Ramirez and her boyfriend, Bobby
  4. On Fall Hill - a story about running and hunting, but mostly about woodland
  5. Traffic 2 with @Djmac1031
I’ve probably missed some stuff

Emily

To piggyback off @EmilyMiller ... I'm currently taking on what might be my most complicated story yet: Part 3 of my own Angels & Demons Saga.

What's so complicated about it? Oh, not much really. Just attempting to write the origins of Heaven, Hell, and the Universe.

Piece of cake, right?

Stole some ideas off the ideas forum for the April fools comp.

Just playing around with them to see what works.
