What are we all writing right now?

Finally back to making progress on my sci-fi novel. I realized I was trying to write this chapter like I had the previous, but that's all wrong. The previous one had been all about the events going on, bringing that part of the story to a climax. This chapter should have been (and now is) all about the characters bringing their relation relationship to a climax (metaphorically and literally) while events are happening around them as the issues from the climax resolve. I was still trying to write an events driven chapter.

I am working on part 3 in my series, 'The Rise of Laura'.

Part one, 'At the Club,' was published today, so I have just submitted part two, 'On the Road'.

There is a part 4, 'Lockdown, London', which was initially published as a standalone story.
Well, things got out of hand.

Part 3 wasn't big enough, so now there is a part 4, and Lockdown, London has been bumped down to part 5.

Last night I put the finishing touches on a 6k word non-con for Halloween. This was a passage from one of my in-process novel-length stories that I realized didn’t fit the story. It was 3k words. I pulled it out and finished it.
A woman wakes to find herself blind-folded tied to her bed. Ravel’s Bolero is playing in the background and the voice of the stranger sounds like her new boyfriend. She relaxes (mostly) and lets him seduce her.
It’s a pure stroke story until the last paragraph when it takes on a decided erotic horror feeling.
Hoping to get it back from my beta reader tonight so I can submit this weekend.

I met a lovely and charming young woman on my recent cruise. Absolutely nothing more than a couple hugs occurred between us yet I found the experience to be romantic in a wistful/pleasant/melancholy way.

Not sure how to write about this.

Write about it as a fantasy. The MC is daydreaming about this lovely young woman. He constructs this whole fantasy of the wild sex and early relationship . Then he has to let it go because he sees her walking the promenade with another man, their hands clasped as they talk softly in the moonlight.
If you wanted to make it a happy ending, the MC finds out the woman was talking to her father on the promenade. She was asking him advice about dating older men.
