What a nice Christmas present

Do you know offhand if the BB cartoon in which he sings "Carrots are divine, you get a dozen for a dime. It's maaaaaaaaaaaaaaagic" is in this list?

No, but if you hum a few bars I'll try to fake it. ;)

Sorry, silly moment. Honestly can't remember, it's been so long. Sigh.

Unfortunately, it's not in the list. I just found out that the song I mentioned is from a 1951 Bugs Bunny cartoon entitled "Rabbit Every Monday."

Oh carrots are divine, you get a dozen for a dime, it's magic. They fry, a song begins; they roast and I hear violins, it's magic. Why do I kid myself? Other loves that I have are all really few. When in my heart I know, the magic's my love for you.

Well, drat.

But they do have Rabbit of Seville and Porky in Wackyland so I'm happy. :D

Thank you, Rob.

*sigh*

What's Opera Doc?

I've shown that to music students.

Good stuff.

:cathappy:

Oh!

And I used to show Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom to elementary kids!

Cool!

Yeah, Rabbit of Seville is largely responsible (along with the Beatles Help and A Clockwork Orange, which both featured the choral from Beethoven's 9th) for my liking serious music.

Ah. The Chorale. What a beautiful piece of music.

Although I like The Pastorale (No. 6) a bit better.

Elmer: Oh Bwoom Hilda....you're so wovewy!!

Bugs: Yes I know it....I can't help it.

My favorite!!

I love the the 6th symphony as well. For reasons of which I am not sure, the Allegro Ma Non Troppo always puts me in a nautical, rather than pastoral, frame of mind. However, the 9th (one of the few pieces of music that I typically listen to in its entirety) is an orgiastic experience for me surpassing all else. Again, I blame early exposure to A Clockwork Orange and Help! The only other music that comes close to eliciting that feeling is the Flower Duet from Lakmé and the Rhapsody in Blue, or on the pop music front, just about anything sung by Ella Fitzgerald.
