Does anyone have one of these and have you used it or had it used on you? What does it feel like? Is there pain, pleasure, or both? Is it sharp enough to draw blood? What is the going rate for a good, stainless steel one and where is the best place to get one?

Thanks!

I know James G 5 has expierence with them... i have felt spurs before but never a whartenberg Wheel.
Spurs create a prickley tickle sensations... jsut as long as the wheel dosne't stick and the tines drag on the skin... watch out for that. If it's used hard enough you'll notice tiny red dots where it's been... sometimes it dosn'et even feel like it's bad enough to cause a tiny bit of blood but it does...

I have one I puchased here for $14: http://www.stockroom.com/a286.htm

And this is an accurate description from the site: Holding the handle in your hand, you can roll this wheel of sharp little pins over a person's skin, generating a unique sensation which many people really respond to. The pins are pointy enough to feel quite prickly wherever they go, but are not sharp enough to puncture the skin unless excessive pressure is used. Nice in combination with a blindfold, and very intense and interesting when used with a Violet Wand.

It's a fun toy. :)

I love to use mine when I do sensory deprivation. My sub says that the sensations are even more intense when he cannot see, or hear.

when my man used the spur on me i was blindfolded and cuffed... it was so much more intense because when he lifted it i didn't know where he was going to put it down next...

Anticipation does set the nerve endings on edge doesn't it?

I bought mine from the stockroom years ago. It is still working perfectly.

They're WONDERFUL toys
Just remember that even if you don't see breaks in skin the wheel does hold the potential for micro-dermal abrasions & fluid transmissions, so always clean them.....I usually use mine with my knives & afertwards wipe them all down with Clorox wipes followed by Wet Ones anti-bacterials

Otherwise, they're GREAT fun :D
I particularly like them for things like tickling the feet of sensetive folk
They're less likely to kick if they know something sharp & pointy is against their skin :D

how do you use your knives.. (besides the tickely foot thing...)

There is almost always a Wartenberg Wheel for auction and www.fetishauctioneer.com , that's where i got mine.

Blood is not a good thing for me, so it's never been hard enough to draw blood. The sensations of it being lightly drawn over already sensitive skin is amazing. To me, it's like a cross between a prickle and a tingle. Always goosebump time.

i'm interested too! *plops down to listen*

I really gotta start that "Details" thread Wyn keeps hectoring me about
Knives are good for all SORTS of things
I like to do arranged scenes where the person I'm playing with wears old clothes and I cut her out of them (has to be arranged, I'd hate to hear "red" becuase I was ignorantly ruining someoen's Prada sweater)
Knives are BIG fun for ravishment and kidnap scenes
Applied properly they can give fantastic sensations
And knives are a real psychological trust game..........I am putting something that could KILL you up against your throat
Obviously you trust me if you let me do it, but there's still that thrill of (safe) fear there
For me, it's a heightening of focus..........Being clumsy with a single tail can injure, being clumsy with a knife can kill, so I HAVE to be super focused
You can play all sorts of mind games..........I can show someone a sharp knife, press it to her throat so she feels how sharp it is, then go behind her back & pick up a thin metal ruler that's in ice.....it's super cold and drips water down her back, feels JUST like being cut open
Geez, I can go on & on here............

That works too
I'm a cleanliness/safety freak & always have a big pack of the Clorox wipes, one of Lysol wipes, and a big canister of Wet Ones plus some individual ones
Great for the knife blades and if you wrap the whell and squeeze so the cleaner goes all the way around it works for thw Whartens too
'course if I ever got blood on one it'd be bleach immersion followed by boiling water

We did that, Himself and I. He called me and gave me orders to put on some old clothes, something that I no longer wanted because they would be useless when He got through with them.

So I dressed in an old dress and a thong that I no longer wear... and I arranged things as He had ordered... the plastic sheet on the living room floor... the bar stool in the middle of it... ~sigh~ (I get excited just thinking about this scene). I placed the ropes and electrical toys on the coffee table along with the assorted nipples clamps and clothes pins (both wooden and plastic). I placed the candles and the lighter... He really hates it when we start something and He has to go look for stuff. I brought out the spreader bar and some metal bars that we have for bondage (lol part of an exercise set that I never use!). I made certain the all the floggers were layed out and the cane and the crop.

Not long after I got finished, He arrived. He let Himself in as usual and I walked out of the bedroom to meet Him... He took a look at me and I walked over and kissed Him. While I was kissing Him, He tore my dress down the front and buttons went flying. Because it did not rip all the way, He took out His knife and cut one part of the dress off me... As He was cutting the rest of my dress off, the knife slipped and He cut His thumb deeply.

Well we had to stop because He was gushing blood and I went to get the first aid supplies... He was just standing at the sink trying to stop the blood when He turned to me and took His thumb and began to drop blood on me as if it were wax... Oh I cannot begin to describe how erotic that was... those drops of blood all over my breasts and belly and the tops of my thighs...

It was just one of those things that happened by accident, it was never planned to happen that way... but it was so exciting and a such a turn on...

I never thought that I would feel that way about blood... it was on my list of hard limits until that... I don't think I could do that with anyone else...

But WOW!!! That was a day I won't soon forget.

Is there any difference between a spur and a wheel? Also is the wheel strictly a BDSM item or does it have a real use?

The wheel resembles a spur but is constructed somewhat differently
It's used medically for reflex & skin sensation tests (for instance in paralysis victims)

Isn't one of these wheels basically the same as a fabric marking wheel (used for quilting and such) will duller points?

Not really

This is the same device that is used by doctors to test sensation in their patients.

Yes, but can an old marking wheel be substituted? *mind racing with possibilities*

I do not see why not. Use it on yourself first, to find out.
