I was able to change the "look" of the threads back to what it used to be. The font and style is still changed, but the old format is still there...

No shit! This is a sad day. And I think pics for sigs have been disabled too. Fara’s didn’t show up, leaving HTML code. StillStiff and Veroe, if no one else, weep. But you can put emojis down there

I don't like that one either but you can uncheck that. I think that's handy for those who kinda want to "police" you. What are you doing, what are you reading, why didn't you reply to my msg. within 1 sec. etc.etc.

For example… is way worse than the old Lit one, and worse than the iPhone one

I'll check Manu's thread but in the old version I unchecked posted images appearing all the time in threads, which were irritating and often offensive. Can't see a way to uncheck them - anyone? Otherwise, an update was overdue and I guess we'll get used to it.
