Welll…what do we think?

If you click on "insert quotes" it's easier to choose the quotes you want to reply. Otherwise, just click reply on each ms and the quotes will show automatically in order.

I screwed up the "order" in which I wanted to quote.

Any tips?

Once you click Insert, you can drag them up or down to set the order.

Can we change our preference on how we want posts in threads to read? Newest to oldest? Or do we have to always hit last page? Still getting used to this.
I think that's still being worked on.

Yeah, this is just like my Figure Skating forum, so I'm used to it. Although, I find it a bit tricky when I have to deleted one of the quotes.

Apart from the 'like' button, does this change have any advantage at all?

Not that I think a 'like' button is really an advantage. Having seen how some people obsess about how many 'likes' they have, or don't have, on other platforms, I tend to think they're a double edge sword. But, it's here now so I guess we'll suffer it till we don't.

It's a far more secure and stable platform from the Admin/Management side. It won't (shouldn't) crash as often or take as long to maintain. The former platform was many years out of date and support from the software company was minimal.

At least the Admin/Management are benefitting. On a personal level, I think it's truly awful, it's totally taken the pleasure out of logging in and I've still not found an easy way to log out.

Far too much navigating to be done on small screens.

Try changing preferences to Classic. It’s a little better.

Change isn’t difficult. Our reaction to change can be. Getting used to it will be tricky. The site owners decided to upgrade this free, no-revenue-generating forum instead of deleting it altogether when it became too difficult to maintain and keep secure the older platform. Might be something to consider reframing for yourself.

I've used computers every day for 40 years, since the DOS days and reframed myself as required, mostly with great enthusiasm but aren't things supposed to be getting more intuitive, not less and easier for the user?

But as you point out, it's a free site so we should be grateful.

I try not to ‘should’ on myself or anyone else. In general our frustrations and challenges with learning this new interface are a tiny fraction of what L+M are dealing with from a cataclysmic change perspective. We can all try to be helpful and interested in learning. Or we can leave.

I have a lightning bolt next to the search magnifying glass, but only on Portrait mode. It seems to go to What's New.

Changing your AV is still not working, but I'm sure that will be fixed. Well at least I hope so. Having share buttons on pics or anything else you post on here is the worst, though. You can't stop people from copying and pasting, but Lit is now literally inviting people to share your posts on other platforms. This isn't facebook. What happens on Lit, should just stay on Lit. This is my biggest gripe.

I do have a lot of positive things to say about the new forum and for the most part, I'm getting used to it and I'm liking it. I really do appreciate the effort that the site owners are putting in to getting this forum to work right. I'm sure it is challenging for them. I just hope they can do something with the share buttons and to make this forum more secure and private. Especially for those who post in the picture threads.

This may have been said before but eeew creepy followers. 😬 That’s a big number of people and names I do not know.
The followers used to be the people who had put you on their buddy lists which no one could see. You could set your e-mails up to where only people on your buddy list could message you. But I think some folks thought the buddy list was a like list instead.

Are they also followers from the story side? There have been followers over there for a while & even though I don't have any stories published, I still had a couple.

Can you block the weirdies from following you by putting them on iggy? 🤔

I don't like that I can't see who posted last in a thread unless I go to the thread.
