Hi, a simple note to you.
When I was in college I took many courses with returning students. That's what they called it back then. I see now that I learned more from them and their questions and comments then from any texts or lectures. They had seen life, done it, been there. Luckily for me they were willing to share all the things that real life holds for you.
Good luck!! Not sure what I meant when i started this, but thought I would share it.

Thanks any info will help :)

I went back to college several years ago to prove to myself that I could do it. I was in my 30's at the time, full time wife/mother/community volunteer. I loved it!! I went to the local Jr. College & met a range of people of all ages. I earned an Associate Degree in History, which I doubt I will use, but I had quit college the first time to have my son. I learned so much from the young people I met & I hope they were able to learn some things from me. Good for you, I am thinking of going back to take some computer classes if I can work around my job schedule.

Ah, the adult student

At least that is what MY college is calling us.. today! :)

Having recently returned to college myself, the only thing I can say is THANK GOD, I do not have to go with the teenieboppers of today. I would probably be in jail for homicide!!!!

The class I attend is for adult students, who work full time, not a teen-ager in sight. And we share the "world experience" with each other. It helps a lot.

You could NOT pay me enough to enroll in a class that had kids still living at home in it. The mind boggles just at the thought.

I congradulate (ok, spelling is optional, that is what a spell checker is for ;)) anyone who decides to go back, it's hard work, but so worth it. I am 42hours away from my degree. I may actually survive long enough to get it. And 'cause I can't resist, for the first time in my life I have a 4.0 GPA. Waahooo!!! (Might not last long, but I have it for the moment. hehehehe)

I am 35 and a single mother. I have one semester left til I complete my Associates in Chemistry and then 2 more years. I am at a Community College now and actually attend with a lot of high school students that are dual enrolled. I agree that it is extremely frustrating to sit in a room of 16 to 18 year olds whose perspective on education is so completely different from your own. I just keep telling myself that it will all be worth it in the end.....I hope that I am correct!

Best of Luck to you!
