Welcoming

Bores me to tears too. I've always had a thing against wearing shirts with logos, so that eliminates about 90% of shirts to wear. I've always worn long, loose jeans, because I've really always been ashamed of my leg hair. It's not that there's loads of it, it's that my hair is brown and my skin is pale, so it really stands out.
That is also a part of why I wear long pants. I hate leghair... I feel like a freaking gorilla :(

The hairs themselves are thick too, which makes shaving them take a looong time, and requires the ritual sacrifice of a disposable razor's sharpness.
(I won't even mention my arms. I shaved them a few times, but the stubble spawned so many awkward comments that it became obvious that unless I wanted to wear long sleeve shirts for the rest of my life, keeping them smoothe would not be a viable option.)

As to the 'Why' question, we can all agree that girls are afforded a lot more freedom with what they wear. And frankly, I like the human figure. Everything for guys short of wifebeaters, bike pants, and a few other things that would be strange for me to wear seems to be loose-fitting, and fairly unflattering in the presentation of the body. I figure that I don't really look too bad. With a bit of work, I think that a more feminine wardrobe would do wonders for my appearance, and could emphasize the things I'd like to be able to emphasize about my body. Not to mention I don't have to deal with constantly trying to wear clothes that try to push how cool, witty, or stylish I am, and instead I can just show any of those things myself with my own choices.
That kind of freedom is worth a lot to me.

Though in truth, I'd do it all just to be able to wear cute stockings on a daily basis. <3
The good news with arm hair is if waxed your arms, the hair that grows back wont be nearly as stubbly. The hair that grows back after waxing is softer, and if you were on hormones with it, it would even be softer, and would likely look feminine. Also, I am a fan of loose socks (wiki them, short answer is really really long socks)

When I think of cute socks and stockings, I think of more fun things. ;3

Fortunately, my arms will be really easy to fix with wax or other removal methods. Hell, if I were feeling masochistic I'd use duct tape, but most people would call me crazy for suggesting it.

Considering that between the two girl clothes options of dress and skirt, I choose skirt, I will more than likely own a few of those.

Same here. I'll probably do a good bit of experimentation with dresses, skirts, and even some more jeans. :p Sockdreams I just found to be heavenly for people who enjoy cute leggings. <3

nice link. To keep /b/'s thread running, I posted under my hannah name and anon. I want a pair of jean shorts like that one girl had in there. they are downright adorable ;_;

Yeah, I might want to look for something like that too. My shopping habits will be strange over the summer. Oh well, beats spending cash on online games and computers.

True that, sister. Thats why I never let my friends drag me into WoW. A huge waste of time and money, any time playing that game could be better spent by exercising, because you can never look too good, besides the money investment which would be better spent on another outfit or three (depending on how many months you spent)

Well, I can't say that I don't love a good online game, but WoW never fit under that criteria for me. x.o But that's neither here nor there. Clothes are more fun most of the time. :p

I think I did say that games were the one boy thing i still do. I play xbox live though, because its much cheaper than any other online thing, and saves me more money for important things, like a new cellphone and some clothes ( I have about $400 saved up to be spent as I see fit :) )

It really isnt as much hard work as you think, I have been keeping all my body hair shaved for twenty years or so.
After the initial razor destroying shave, if you get in the habit of running a razor over your, legs, chest, arms etc, everytime you shower or bath, it becomes so quick to do and their is never any stubble for anyone to notice. There are also good moisturisers such as those by veet which retard the hair regrowth.
& if anyone questions your smooth appearance just tell them you are a swimmer.

It may just be that I have bad luck with the thick hair genes, because for me, running a razor over my legs two days after shaving them is extremely painful, and it's hard to get them all quite gone. Odds are, I'll probably just take up some of the different routes to hair removal, as, even though I habitually run a razor over most of me, it's never gotten to be a quick process... I figure just getting some of the longer lasting methods of removal (waxing, other things, +growth inhibitors) would be a better option for my tastes.
As for the swimmer explanation... Wish I had that one when I went through middle school.

Or a cyclist. My SO is a cyclist and has been shaving since his mid-teens. Lycra + leg/arm hair = OWCH!!

I learn all sorts of things like this. I seem to have missed the boat on the reasonable explanations I could've used for those situations. :p *The more you know*

Ever considered laser hair removal?

I know there's a local place constantly advertising on the local radio station, I just don't know how much that would cost for entire stretches like legs or arms.

I've done the research, it's nothing within my price range, not for a long while I can assure you. Right now, though, I'm not so worried about the hair, I think I can manage it later. :3

Laser hair removal is super expensive, and even doing just a face can cost a lot of money. Legs take it to an extreme, as there is a lot more leghair than face hair. Not to mention the pain, oh is there pain. Or, so i have read.

can someone who did it already testify?

Valid reasons to be sure, but think of how much you'll save in razors and shaving gel costs?
Not enough, as i recall... does someone have exact costs/figures?

Sarcasm does not translate well on the internet.... and putting an ! at the end instead of a ? would have made the difference there ;)

I was curious, how is body hair handeled beyond facial hair? DO hormones stop/stunt chest hair growth? I don't want to have to get electrolysis on my chest and face.
