Weighted rating

Feel free - just meant to be fun 😊.

I know it's not intended as a brag thread. Still, the slew of 4.6s made me hesitant to post.

However, in lieu of starting a "Weighted ratings (not hot authors only)" thread [šŸ˜‚], I will open the kimono - my average is 4.39.

4.4 barrier broken! Anyone care to take it lower?

With 303 stories, I think I'll pass. Sounds like to much work for so little information.

282, and you're right. Especially when all your ancient office products start automatically closing as soon as they open after a recent sound update, (WTF how did that fuck them up?) and you don't know how to do row referencing functions in the alternative you have available.

I know we all (apart from some enlightened souls) worry way too much about ratings.

But, for another thread, I downloaded my story list to Excel this morning, so as to add the word counts.

I also calculated my weighted rating, which I haven’t looked at in a while.

[If it isn’t obvious, multiply each story rating by the vote count and add this all up, divide it by the sum of just the vote counts.]

It’s 4.43 overall, and 4.55 if I exclude my ā€œexperimentā€ with Harper’s Reckoning, which is a total outlier (rated 3.32 with no other story under 4).

I know it’s a meaningless stat, but kinda fun.

How about you?

Em
4.67

4.77 - based on a very small sample size of only three stories.

Plus, I was too scared to put 'The Wings of Ilium' into Loving Wives... Em (and others) had already stepped in that cesspit and warned me about it. :)
