Shadowsdream said:37 does seem to be a magic number. I can still remember when many subs and Dommes thought they were no longer desirable because they had hit the big 30.
It is wonderful to see that reality has shown the big 30 is still an entrance number.

Grrrrr.
Let's see, Christa lives about 15 miles from me in one direction, Caroline lives about 8 miles in the opposite direction, they have lunch together a mile from my house and I don't get invited?
Hey, I can do that girl talk thing too.

The staff will probably still be in there talking about the two wild women who blew through the place today.

This begs the question, when will you visit New York?
I know of at least one, if not two subs who would love to meet you.

I'm so glad you said that Shadowsdream -- because one of the things I've noticed on this particular board is the emotional maturity of so many of the members. Now that of course doesn't relate to age, lol. But I will say that there's something refreshing about having people (like myself) new to exploring this aspect of themselves into their thirties, as well as having members with years of experience and knowledge -- all together -- is one of the things that makes it so special here.
Just my opinion of course.

OMG! I snickered and snorted and giggled and laughed all the way through your account, Hecate. I cannot ***imagine*** anyone in the whole world messing with you in this manner - and not paying for it immediately!Hecate said:It was one of the really worst combinations of transport problems I had had in a long time - but the weekend itself made up for sweatty mad dashes and aching feet in the end ... so I'll line up happily with the "GREAT WEEKEND" bunch![]()

Perse, I could not agree more. What seemed at first to be a jarring change in my life seems more like a natural development when I read of you, or Miss T, or others travelling similar paths.
There are times I wish I had understood more of my desires at a younger age, but at other times I am so grateful that I did not, as I would have probably gotten myself into a world of trouble!

Hecate said:... I may still be in time for my weekend report.
I too had a LDR meeting weekend scheduled as some may have noticed between the lines.
Even though it wasn't a first meeting I always find them to be those lovely special treats that deserve some extra preparation, and we have not had that many meetings to not discover loads of new nifty things about each other every time. This one was supposed to be an extra special one since we still had to celebrate my B-day in person.
So I took the Friday off work, booked a 6.10 am (aaarrrghhhhhh - can you see this was really being extra special?!?!) flight and figured all in all I might be in the London area where I needed to be by mid- to late morning (including a plane change at Frankfurt, getting from Heathrow into London, on a tub and on another train to final destination),
Blissfull long weekend ahead we had planed a few activities - not the kinky kind - and a lunch meeting with Lit friends.
So I draged myself out of bed in the wee hours of Friday night to get to the airport in the densest fog ... not a good sign ... to then learn that we would be delayed for fog for about 20 min. OK - I had 1 hour to change planes at Frankfurt. Only hand luggage .... 20 minutes late ... might still make it ...
After 40 minutes, ground personell declared they were having a tech problem with the plane ... by then I should have almost been landing at Frankfurt ... to then get the news that they couldn't get another plane so they would send a bus to drive us to Frankfurt ... we are talking a 3,5 hour bus ride instead of a 40 min flight !
By the time I got on the bus my plane to London was happily taking off from Frankfurt ....
We were told they would book us on the next possible planes to our destinations with the original airlines we had booked- which for me would have left Frankfurt approx. around 2 pm .... so there went my lunch plans that I had secretly been nurturing while still hoping for the tech problem to be fixed.
As we hit the road I studied the time table a fellow sufferer had with him, to see there were a few more options to London if we managed to make Frankfurt on time ...
Arriving at Frankfurt around 11 - no breakfast, no coffee, no nothing since around 4.30 am - I raced to the ticket counter to see if there were any flights before 2 pm (I did NOT AT ALL feel inclined to do a 3 hour wait) and I really had reached a boiling point (we had some time-crucial non-refundable program scheduled for Friday late afternoon and I saw my chances of making it dwindle by the minute) to then find that the only timewise reachable flight was a) with another airline that would require original check in again, b) boarding in 25 minutes in c) the completely opposite terminal.
Frankfurt is a "you need a train to shuttle between Terminals" size airport - 25 mins is NOTHING if you are a) being all dolled up in your stately gear including high heeled boots and b) have your whole luggage as hand luggage including laptop etc which cause delays in security checks. Obviously I must have made a determined enough impression to get the ticket changed - and started my race towards British Airways - to then be caught in the check in lind with a guy in front of me whose plane already was GONE... so I just told him to piss off and not make me miss mine as well ... long story short - a few odd looks and two security checks later, leaving a trail of bemused or bewildered check personell in my wake I arrived to the gate to just race through as they were indeed already boarding.
I figured at least our afternoon booking would now be safe ... and started to relax while the sweat started slowly to dry.
Arriving at Heathrow was rather uneventfull - untill I came off the Heathrow Express to get on the tub to the train station ... to find that "Circle Line is not runing at present, please proceed to gate 4, take whatever line, change line again at whatsoever" ... do any of you know how agonizing that is with the full weekend luggage? Did I mention all stately geared up in high heels *insert wincing smirk here* ?
Sweat bathed and utterly frustrated I made it to the train station, was even lucky enough (after another mad dash and more suspicious looks) to catch the train that was just about leaving ... to then get a call from my beloved telling me that the afternoon program had been cancelled from the other side ...
At this point suffice to say that ... someone ... had to put up with a load of pent up frustration, aggression, a flogger and me instead as soon as I got to final destination. (For the record: I did not get any complaints - no one was seriously hurt in this incident)
Anyway ... I had a lovely remaining Friday and Saturday, so I too had an excellent weekend, at least the part of it that went semi-scheduled, a little sad that our Sunday lunch plans didn't work out, but there wil be other occasions in the not to distant future.
So the sad moment arrived to get back on the road so to speak to make my way back home.
Unfortunately I could not get any good connections, so the return saw me with a 2 hour stop at Munich .... where when I arrived there was not even a free seat in the waiting area- talk about my mood dropping further!
So finally the masses cleared, since the plane I was waiting for was one of the later ones for Sunday ... the time came when boarding was expected ... we got on the bus to be taxied to the plane (which is a tiny propeller driven thing) and I felt reliefed to soon be at home .. alas, I should not be that lucky ...
The friendly ground staff lady came to tell us we should please be getting off the bus again and back into the waiting hall - there was a little technical problem .... NOOOOOOOO , hadn't I hear THAT before?????
This time it took them only the better part of an hour to fix whatever the problem was ... and I finally made it back home.
It was one of the really worst combinations of transport problems I had had in a long time - but the weekend itself made up for sweatty mad dashes and aching feet in the end ... so I'll line up happily with the "GREAT WEEKEND" bunch![]()

You couldn't have said it better Caroline! In fact, it helps me with these first jarring steps to see you and MissT and the others a number of feet ahead of me -- but still close enough that I can completely relate to where you all have gotten to at this point. It makes it easier for me to be open about my self-questioning or fears -- or the moments I feel overwhelmed. And that's a great feeling to know the support is there. And not just from the other subs -- but from the Doms & Dommes who've the experience of seeing the subs they've had relationships with develop and explore their submissive desires.
BTW, I'm so now *dying* to know where you all went for gelato and into this Noir leather shop you mentioned, lol. Obviously -- that's because I haven't a clue to where you all live. See, in NYC we have a rather clever costume jewelry/leather goods shop called "Noir" It's fairly cutting edge, has done a whole bdsm themed line and is in the part of town we call NoLiTa. *And* it's not far from some good gelato, lol (that's because NoLiTa stands for "North of Little Italy") So my instinct when I first read what you all got up to was to think -- Damn! There they were so close to me where I was trolling around Soho and Greenwich Village, lol.

We live in Detroit area. The places we went to are in Royal Oak which is where lots of cool restaurants and stores are. Noir Leather is a serious kink store with clothes and stuff but also lots of great toys and all that. I thought Caroline ought to buy one of them glass dildos that light up but she said no. Oh well. She bought me lunch I cant bitch.

Ah! One of my closest friends is from that area originally. So I know where you're talking about by reputation.
But the two of you going into a serious kink store with leather and glass dildos in it...
...I am shocked! Shocked I tell you!
LOL, nice to hear you all having a good time. I like getting together with my NYC area friends from LIT myself.
I guess lilminx and I will have to search out some good NYC kink shops and report back.
Actually Toys in Babeland is in the East Village...perhaps we need to make a trip there... (although I've never seen them have that kind of dildo -- but maybe I didn't look hard enough last time.)

Their base is in Seattle -- so you went to the original! They opened a second store in NY, that I don't think was all that long ago. They're my favorite place to patronise for toys. Mostly I go to them online -- but my last partner took me there and bought me some toys. Including a harness and a double dildo -- which we used on him, hehehe. There's that switch in me, lol.
Just as an aside I also like www.libidia.com too. I like to go to the sites that are particularly focused for women.
