Not all is happy for the holiday.

"On 11/29/2019 at approximately 1912 hours, Soldotna Dispatch received multiple reports of an aircraft crash near Jean Lake, west of Cooper Landing. Aircraft dispatched by RCC responded and located the crash site, but was unable to land due to weather and terrain. On 11-30-19 at approximately 1430 hours DPS Helo 3, with NTSB investigator onboard, conducted an overflight of the crash site but was unable to land in the area. The involved aircraft has been identified as a Piper PA31-350 operated by Security Aviation. There were believed to be three souls onboard; no survivors are expected. The Alaska Mountain Rescue Group is organizing a ground response to the crash site on 12-1-19."

jumping to a conclusion but weather probably played a part in the crash, unfortunately.

You have to be smart enough to not fly in bad weather. Personally, I would not fly into Seward on any day that wasn't perfectly clear. Too many hard clouds.

to many people fly in weather that shouldn't.

Here's another example: South Dakota plane crash leaves 9 dead, 3 injured, authorities say. bad weather in SD at the time.

Unfortunately, bad decisions by bad pilots usually affect more than just them.

Supposedly, the flight was chartered as a medivac. Someone forgot the first rule of rescue, don't add to the victim list.

The Pilatus is a great aircraft. Could of been a lot of things. Best to drink coffee, eat cookies, and grow old and fat instead of flying in bad weather.
