We don't give a damn how they do it OUTSIDE.

UPDATE: Extremely difficult driving conditions in Turnagain Pass today (3/9). Snow fall was over 2 ft. at 6:30 a.m. M&O graders, blowers and sanders are working to keep the pass open.

Under the asphalt? Whhhyyyyy???

Kind regards, an extremely curious Australian :D

There will be no asphalt or any other hard surfacing on that road unless they want it to look like the Chief Eddie Hoffman highway.

The insulation is used to keep the depth of summer thaw within the road prism. And it should be several feet below the traffic surface.
