Hi all --

I know I've seen a thread on here somewhere about wax play -- recommendations on what's good, kind of wax, etc, but I can't seem to find it.

Can someone direct me there?

Or just post recommendations again? :)

Thank you!

Mmmm, wax. :)

Though have you ever noticed that white wax drizzled over a woman's body tends to look like an entirely different substance in photographs? ::grin::

Oh, by the way, check out these two threads in the library.

Candles, wax, etc.

Wax Play

Paraffin is great, as it burns without to much heat. Dyes and hardeners that make for dripless candles tend to make candles burn a lot hotter. Also, beeswax burns very, very hot. The farther you hold the candle from the skin, the cooler the droplets will be. But you get more spatter that way. I like to buy a clear plastic drop cloth and spread that out. Makes cleanup a breeze.

Paraffin baths, designed primarily for use on hands and feet can be great things. They heat the wax to a uniform temperature that is usually safe for skin contact. The best have actual temperature control knobs on them. I do not recommend crock pots, as they get the wax far to hot. I also like seven day candles, the type that are in a tall glass cylinder. They are usually paraffin of some sort, they have a handy container that holds a nice pool of wax, and they come in pretty colours. You can also put these in a pot of hot (not boiling) water and melt the entire candle to liquid. Again, be careful of temperature here.

I will always test a candle I am not familiar with on my self, usually on my wrist, before using it on my girl. Just like testing bottled milk for a baby.

I love wax play. I especially love slicing the cooled wax off with my knife afterward. Hmm, I just remembered I need more candles.

But anyway, enough rambling. I am tired and need sleep.

Enjoy.
